I am new to this forum but not new to the FJ45 sortof. I had one when I was 19 and had to sell it due to a divorce by 20. Regretted selling it ever since, didnt regret the divorce thou... lol

So here I am now 37 and finally landed me another 45. My girlfriend found it for me actually.

It is a 77 Fj45 p/u and currently has a Olds 307 v8 under the hood and a 4spd. Came with two winchs and a complete disc brake front axle. Rust is from what I see controlable but Aqualu might be getting my vote.

I see alot of people on here are from Alberta Canada. That is where I live so hopefully I get to meet some of you etc...

Attempting to post a pic...

THANK-YOU for fixing my pics... was bugging me. I live in Hinton AB. Lil outta the way I suppose for most but the Rockies are literally in my back yard. Can't wait to explore :)

I messaged the guy at 10:45pm, he called me back at 11:10 and was bought by 11:37pm that night. Wasn't gonna miss out on it :)

over on the 40 board, they are always saying your bib is upside down.... wonder what the comments would be....

Welcome my Alberta brother  been 45's popping outta the woodwork round here lately. Where did you find it? There are enough 45's in a 4 hr radius we could have our own little 45 run...

Congrats on the truck. Looks like this girl friend might be a keeper if she keeps finding 45's.

I like your thinking.

Maybe lour own Alberta 45 Club...:hhmm:

I just voted myself in.... I'm a doer.

Seriously tho its not a bad idea, theres at least 3 here in GP, and I know where another is, he won't sell, drove by it again yesterday.

Ya I suppose Hinton isn't really that far away from Edm. I do go there often. Have to look you up next time I'm there.

My GF found the truck locally. PO bought it over 7yrs ago. He never did anything with except park it in a farmers field.

I really like the front bumper also :) It looks to be manufactured that way with maybe some mods. Definatly gonna sandblast it and get it powdercoated.

I am down for the idea of a AB 45 club or run kinda thing.

I took a bunch of pics (I'm working on posting them) of the beast now that I have it at my shop. Looks like I am gonna need a new frame thou or some repair. Aqualu might just be getting a phone call for one.

Looks like there is a lot of surface rust on the frame, but unless you foind a bunch of holes, I would clean it up a bit to see how bad it really is. Rust looks ugly, but sometimess it is not as deep as you think. Start beating the frame with a hammer to test it.

Rest of the truck looks good too. Interior seems to be in good shape.

A few patch panels and a bit of paint and you're done!

The frame on both sides has been patched over with plate steel up both rear frame flanks. To find out for sure how bad it is underneath I have to remove those plates. I can see rust and a crack in the driver side.

I have researched frame repair and I am capable of doing it so instead of dumping 2700+ on a new frame I will spend some time with this one. Since I am tearing it down to the frame anyways I figure why not give it a try. The rest of the frame is solid and the issue is mainly just in the kickup shown in the pic I posted.

Anybody know where the best place in the Edmonton area is to buy parts and stuff for our Cruizers? Looking for some body panels mainly and all new suspension/steering stuff.

Welcome bro.

Nice find. Where did the truck come from originally?

I don't think it is a Canadian model as there are no side window heater ducts.

Put me down for a 45 run too.
