Funny how you guys are thinking of running two winches as I just brought a second winch for my fj/hj45 project. I will have a ramsey re8000 on the front with a super-winch 9000 on the rear. I was planing on running the ramsey behind the cab so I could run it under the chassis both directions but thought why not just run the 9000 on the back. I was going to run the super-winch on my Saraha but its more a family shopping trolly than a off road weapon.

I am hoping for this truck to see some heavy trails. Dual winchs will come in very handy.

Not right now but fairly soon I will be looking at buying a SOA kit and Histeer. Anybody have prefrences for the kits that are out there? I like the idea of having extra clearance offered by the SOA and not having the springs/ubolts hanging me up. Also Histeer to keep my steering protected from getting smashed on rocks etc...

Hahaha, my GF wouldn't let me modify our 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee, doing a level kit on it though and have alil bigger AT's vs stock. That's all I'm I'm allowed to do.

Not bust any bubbles but I like the look of a stock truck and no lift. Also for me there are not enough fj45 as there is so for me off road will not happen if I was to do some off roading I would buy a dirt cheap jeep and beat it to death.

I hear what your saying Red Camel. Truth is if my 45 was a really clean original then I would preserve it that way. That being said I gave myself permission to build it for trail duty because mine has a modified frame and Chev V8 swap already. The only thing semi original clean is the hood and apron covers. HAHA

Got a bunch of wiring labeled and pulled back plus other stuff in preparation to remove the cab. Suprisingly time consuming. Also got the fenders off today.

Haven't forgot about this truck, just working crazy hours lately at work. Looking forward to get back on her and start repairing etc... Once the fixing starts it's gonna be super fun Re assy is the best part.

So my boss has just made my life about 1 million times better. He just bought the shop a plasma cutter!!!!!! Heck ya!!!!! Repairing my frame will be WAAAAAY easier and also cutting out and fixing the tub on the ol Yota

So an update, not much work as of late sadly... been to busy at work with 14+ hr days. OT is good and I am gonna be buying a Miller 211 welder due to the craziness at my work So all in all I have kinda been working on the project in the tooling sense of it all, LOL

Thats good news on the welder but working 14 hours days must be taking it out of you. I know because where flat out at work and I'm totaled most weekends with zero energy for my cruiser.

Yup exactly... it isn't always that busy mostly a 10-11 hr day on average with the occasional K*&^ in the a!! shift. To top it off my 4 day weekend is spent driving 5hrs to Kamloops to visit my daughter every second weekend. wouldn't give that up for the world. Just gotta work and tool up and when stuff slows down I can get get back at it fully armed

Still hunting this welder for the best deal. so far KMS tools is $1137, Gonna 99% settle on that deal. January is going to be awesome. Like another xmas

I picked up some Zero Rust paint. Might do a RustMort and Zero Rust treatment on the whole project. I have physically seen and played/experimented with these products and together are incredible and a lot cheaper than POR15. Also from my research a lot more easy to repair after the fact that having to chisel POR15 off a section etc...

If things slow down at work this week I will be back on the cruzier for a bit. Keep ya posted.

So things have finally slowed down around work. Rather than buying a welder I decided to save the money for a potential house in the next few months time. House/Welder hmmm yup a house with a 25x40 shop takes priority. Fingers crossed!!!

I will be starting working on the 45 again now that I have time to breath.

Great reading about your 45 and in Alberta ! count me in for the 45 club !
I like the fold down tray box idea, functional and looks good.
I raised my box and it seems to look appropriate, the stock height looked to low in relation to the cab.
Keep up the good work and posts and good luck finding the right house / garage !
