Elaborate on the Kendas???? BFG is getting disappointing 😳😲🤔🧐😏
They have been on the market for a few years now. I read the buzz in the 40 forum and bought a set about a year and a half ago. I like them a lot. I still have a set of the BFGs on the SWB with less than a thousand miles on them. The contact patch on the Kendas is a full inch wider than the BFG. That, along with the wraparound onto the sidewall that Greg is not so happy about actually make the Kenda about 20% more stable cornering than the BFG.

Is that the elaboration you were looking for?

I sure wish they sold them up here, I will likely do a set but after all this tariff BS has settled down.

They pop up in a lot of the build threads but here's an entire thread: FYI - Kenda Klever R/T KR601.....NEW size on the way..... 33x9.50R15LT - https://forum.ih8mud.com/threads/fyi-kenda-klever-r-t-kr601-new-size-on-the-way-33x9-50r15lt.1248468/

These are RT tires (Rough Terrain) which I wasn't really familiar with before researching the Kendas. They make them in an AT, RT and MT. The RT is supposed to be a half way house between the AT and MT.

They didn't take excessive weight to balance, which is a good sign. Looks like 2 1.75 ounce weights on the two tires I looked at - if I'm reading the weights correctly. I had them put the weights on the inboard side. And thankfully there's no raised white letters for people to get confused and turn outwards on display. 😂

The look is growing on me and I have also realized that the only way to get the "look" I'm/was after would be to go to a bias ply tire and even I'm not that anal.

Trying to replicate a galvanized coating on three heat shields. I think this KBS high temp aluminum is close enough. That's pretty much what new galvanized metal looks like. That's after one coat of primer and one coat of Aluminum. Will put one additional coat on tomorrow. They recommend minimum of 8 hours between coats. The heat shield on the left is just primed. Old galvanized metal is probably somewhere between those two colors.

Using their primer and jet black on the brake rotors and drums. Thought about Cerakote but would have to get a different spray gun, upgrade my air supply, etc. etc. This stuff does have to be baked at 350F for 20 minutes but it can be done anytime after it's painted. I'll get the powder guy to put it in his oven after I finish everything.

Picked up a bunch of parts from the powder coater this afternoon. Not sure why everyone complains about installing the gas tank. This one dropped right in. 😂

I think what I was asking was longevity! Iv'e seen BFG AT with 100k + that still pass inspection 😏😘

Chevy 4x4 van rocking 100k+ and still drivable 😏😘. Good weed back then too 😳😲😮🍑💨
Back when men were men...and rubber was rubber!

The Kenda tire is doing everything you need a tire to do, if you are still driving your full body pig on a body damage guaranteed trails then you are probably running something different...
For the rest of us I think it's a pretty good tire, I have run BFG mud train and all terrain tires for guessing 35-40 years and made the switch to Kenda recently because of cost.. My first set of 35" kendas were $175 each.
The set they just delivered today was $299.74 EA...
I liked them a lot better at $175.00
