It’s be a few years since I rebuild my pump so I don’t remember like a lot of things lately. However there were some good rebuild videos on YouTube I used which should show that seal.
The vacuum pump is brand new. Been watching the rebuild videos. I’ll post a link so it on here for future reference.

@BMValentine here are pictures of the alignment channel I made.

Cut the center to fit around hub and had 2 holes fit over wheel studs and tightened down with lug nuts.

37” is for my tire size.

Anybody run Isspro gauges? There’s a location in Portland that my buddy Brian used on his 6BT.
Yes. I think three of us running them in our Cummins 80’s. I am using their EGT and boost in my 80.

Beautiful Mosier, Oregon orchards under a foot of fresh snow overnight and 8” settled base.

Drive down to the wellhouse

Pump truck after getting out. Really dig the white wheels 🤣

I hope you keep lots of emergency supplies in that truck. The snow is beautiful but I am glad I don't have to deal with it
To each his own. At least we both enjoy our 60s series.

I lived in the Northeast for a long time. I now have shovel aversion syndrome. The pictures you post of your property and surrounding area are enviable though. Could almost make an old man reconsider...almost

That's the heavy stuff. We got that much this week, but you could blow it away pretty much. Cascade concrete?
That 60 is going to be so much fun in the snow. Go man go!

This vacuum pump and power steering pump seal leak is baffling.

You can see the seal inside the vaccum pump housing. It can slide in and out. When inserting the power steering pump it pushes it forward the front where when we remove the power steering pump it moves and would not seal. It seems like it should be on the outer side of the lip inside the vacuum pump.

Here marked in yellow. As then the power steering pump would compress the seal against the shoulder of the vacuum pump.

With the seal on the inside it just floats. I’m headed to Napa now with both PS and VP.

The new Napa vacuum pump. The seal in this one is stationary.

This seal definitely seem like a weak spot as it can slide in thus loose it’s abilty to seal.

Screw the vacuum pump. Convert to standalone power steering pump and put hydroboost on there. One less thing to fail, and you'll get more powerful brakes.

Due to clearence I need to install the VP first not connected to the PS pump.

Mike has his setup with hydroboost.
My buddy Jeremy has the vacuum pump setup on his 6BT setup so that’s why we went this route.

I was able to pull the whole thing out in one unit but it was a bit of square peg/round hole situation. I had to pull it out the top as it wouldn't come out from the bottom.

My issue is the bottom bolt on the vacuum pump going to the gear housing. Due to how the motor mount bracket is installed there’s not a lot of room. With the power steering pump connected I’m not sure I could even get a wrench on it. I’m going to see what way to go Saturday.

Talked to Isspro Gauges in Portland this morning. Looks like the electronic gauges are the way to go. 1500F EGT with 1200F warning indicator. 35psi boost. Open to opinions.
