Sorry for your troubles with the renovation its always a struggle.

The starting issue with the Cruiser is probably something simple, I’m sure you will figure it out as soon as you have time to jump into it.

It's all good! And yes, it is a lot of kibble....I'm looking to raise rabbits next year...I'll be sure to tell my kids not to name them.

Funny thing: I adopted the german shepard mix from da streets. He was wild as could be man, but he liked hanging out with my wife so we brought him home.

He settled in nicely with the others, he was number 4 at the time. He did weird things, I've never seen other dogs do. I have some acreage and have a small pasture for my dogs (I don't pick up dog s*** anymore). My new dog would constantly disappear to take his dumps. I found out he was going into my lean-to (for those who have no idea what a lean to is, it's a structure like a barn without front doors). I admit, I had no idea wth it was when I first hear of it.

Anyway, a while went by before I went and investigated. Turns out there were 7-8 massive piles of dog crap, in roughly the shape of pyramids.

This crazy pup would poop in the SAME pile so much that he'd squat and the poop would come out of his butt and touch the pile of poop on the ground that was now a poop pyramid. There were about 7-8 piles of poop pyramid.

This day, I went out and did my final poop patrol. I had to get my Tundra and fill up the back with dog poop to get rid of it all. He chose to s*** on my old hay bales so there was that too.

It’s been 1,155 miles since I blew my head gasket in Oct 2022. I haven’t driven it much, but I put on 160 miles in the last couple of days.

I love driving her, but she feels very squirmy on the roads, it is worse when it’s off camber, or if the road undulates and curves. Her body roll is bad and it’s very easy to oversteer.

Installing my rear sway bar may help. I think I need better shocks too.

She’s also been sitting around because of a starting issue. I chased wiring, grounds, Fusible links, fuses, starter, alternator, etc.

Guess what I didn’t check? My newish, expensive X2 battery. That bitch was D-E-D, dead. I used my genius 10 to charge and repair it, but that didn’t work. It would charge and discharge over and over. Anyway, it’s warrantied.

I found an old piece of s*** battery laying in the dirt and it had a charge. Charged her up and slung her inside my cruiser. We’ve been driving since! Took her to one of my daughters plays in old Jonesborough.

I have a lot of work to do on her. Interior, some exterior bits, different shocks…not sure yet. I do want to use the cruiser more than I do. I absolutely love driving her. It’s so simple. The road noise is soothing. The view from the cockpit is open and bright, and I’m not staring at a thousand different buttons and colors and gauges and screens.

That’s a beautiful truck Pel you have done a great job with her. and for sure she needs to be driven more.
When you get her where you like her then you will have to consider a Cruiser & company turbo kit.

I’m not sure it would stand up to collisions with granite though. How thick is the main bumper metal? The vertical members of the grill guard appear to be made from rather thin material.

Awesome looking rig Pell. I’m bumper shopping lately and can’t make a decision. The Delta bumper provides excellent coverage but at a premium price. I’m not sure it would stand up to collisions with granite though. How thick is the main bumper metal? The vertical members of the grill guard appear to be made from rather thin material.

Hey Steve, I don’t know how the DVS bumper compares to others except the ARB and it makes the ARB look and feel like papier mâché my kid made when she was 3yo. Okay, maybe not that bad, but pretty weak comparatively.

The DVS bumper metal is approx 3/16” thick all around.

I don’t know how it would stand up to granite personally , but there are plenty of testimonials and evidence that shows these bumpers are worth their premium. I’ll test mine out someday, somewhere other than Dollar General harassing old ladies with my 37s that only see pavement and curbs.

Speaking of spending someone else’s money, just bought this stuff for my buddy. He wanted his 93 cruiser lifted slightly. Hope he this setup gets him where he wants.
The cruiser outfitters box is full of knuckle rebuild stuff with Koyo bearings.

His mechanic took him for a ride recently by changing his head gasket when his symptoms showed signs of a failed I forget what it’s called but not the head gasket. His symptoms were coolant in the passenger floorboard. You guys know what I’m talking about. I counseled him on these symptoms but since I was too busy with my house reno, he never approached me to help him. Not that I want to tackle removing his dash but I wouldn’t have forked him over like this tool. He also broke his rad shroud, broke his EGR valve, timing was over 15° advanced, cables routed wrong, and he threw away his valve cover top plastic pieces and hardware.

You really have to do work yourself if you want quality.

Anyway, he has a new HG but still smells rad fluid when he drives. Floor is dry though weirdly enough. Just waiting at this point for it to fail.

RTH: Need to yank out the third row sliding glass and do some reconfiguring. Has anyone taken these out before and offer any guidance? My gaskets are new…will I inevitably tear or rip them? If so, I’ll get new ones on order first. I know I can look up YouTube vids and I will, but for now asking the couple of you vets for some experience in action.

You won't tear them. They come out surpisingly easy I've found. I use a couple platic trim pry bars and work my way from a lower corner on the inside and slowly work the inner seal over the lip. Be sure to have someone on the other side offering a hand so you don't drop it when it decides to go the rest of the way. Windows both open and slid to the center will help with that. Going in, be sure to use soapy water. That's treated me best going back together

You won't tear them. They come out surpisingly easy I've found. I use a couple platic trim pry bars and work my way from a lower corner on the inside and slowly work the inner seal over the lip. Be sure to have someone on the other side offering a hand so you don't drop it when it decides to go the rest of the way. Windows both open and slid to the center will help with that. Going in, be sure to use soapy water. That's treated me best going back together

Also, started on my buddies cruiser. She is a mess and my rook-ass forgot to tell him to pressure wash it before getting started. Doh! Soupy
