Long Awaited Return!!
I'm back (actually, I've been back for a week). . .
Please forgive my lack of updates, as I'm sure you can imagine it has been crazy coming home after being gone for a month. On top of having an all new job, a pregnant wife, and a full '60 resto going down, a buddy of mine's 80 left him stranded last week.
So I apologize, there won't be any photos of the 60 today (it's sitting lonely in the corner of my garage). I'll get back on it ASAP; but I've got to get the 80 out of my garage first. On that note,
IF ANYONE HAS A LINE ON A 60 DRIVERS REAR 1/4 PANEL SEND THEM MY WAY!! I NEED A NEW ONE BEFORE MOVING MUCH FURTHER!!
In an attempt to keep everyone happy, here are some pics of 80 carnage. Luckily, my buddy called me before having it towed to a shop. . .would have been an expensive repair (
pretty nice carnage though, if I do say so myself):
Picture of the disabled 80 (and it's not so happy owner); he just bought it. 200k miles, he had an outer wheel bearing failure, that led to a melted spindle (into the inner hub), that led to a grenaded birf. . . took it apart with an air hammer; nice
I'm replacing the birf & spindle (of course) and also going through and resealing the knuckles, replacing wheel bearings, etc.
I promise to get back on the '60 as soon as the '80 is gone. . .that is if my wife doesn't have me working on the nursery:
