I will put money on the fact that if your 60 (when finished) was next to a off-the-lot 60. No one would be able to tell which one was a homebrew. :D
 
You have given life not only to this 60 but to many mudders too. Very nice work! You talent with rust and body work is inspiring and has given my hope to try some myself. Thanks for this great thread and project. It was nice watching it along the way.

I got the LAST tub rust patch cut out last night, should start welding her in this weekend. My wife is out of town all weekend, so I have a long cruiser 'to-do' list that I'm hoping to get finished:

-Patch rocker holes
-Patch roof holes
-Repair the last rust spot at the RR wheel well
-Seam seal the entire tub
-Spray the bedliner in (assuming my schutz gun arrives)
-Test fit the new carpet
-Repair the dents on the LR 1/4 skin
-Start installing both 1/4 skins

Ah life is good. someone stated that you would not be able to tell from a factory fresh Fj 60 that is bologna yours would look soo much better. Just my .02 Hope to get going of BT-60 again soon think all the family problems are resolving but your rebuild is the mecca for me in my smaller project. Glad to see it getting better all the time. LOL Doc:)

Alright. Here it is after finishing the floor with bedliner. Really happy with the way this all turned out, looking forward to hearing some feedback.

After completely scothbriting the floor, I vacuumed it out, cleaned it with prep wash, and then tack clothed it. Probably a little overboard, but it was clean!!;)

I went ahead and disassembled the seat back as there was quite a bit of surface rust, sanded it all down and shot the visible side with etching primer, the cushion side got 3 coats of epoxy.

She was then ready to be shot with the bedliner. I used 5 liters of U-pol Raptor that I tinted to match the interior (if you recall, I'm not putting carpet back in the rear cargo area). Shot it out of a schutz style gun at 60psi; this stuff lays down super easy & looks amazing. Pics after the first coats (3L used at this point):

I let it flash for an hour per the instructions and then shot the remaining 2L on the cargo area and seat back (total of 4-5 coats in the back):

Oh yeah, be sure to wear a good respirator; this is some nasty $hit! :beer:
 
I've gotten a couple of PM's, so I figured I'd post up in this thread. I orderd the UPol Raptor product online (can't remember from who & I'm out of town so have no way to check), I ordered the cheaper 4L kit and an additional liter (5L total). The cheaper kit does not come with a schutz style gun, but I thought I could pick one up at the local harbor freight; no such luck. Apparently they quit carrying them and they don't have them listed online. I ended up ordering a gun off of Ebay, which did not have the correct threads (so I had to fab up an adaptor) and the suction tube was too short to reach the bottom of the UPol bottles (so I had to cut the top off a bottle and hold it as I sprayed. . . PITA).

So, in retrospect, I would have ordered the more expensive kit (it was only like $20 more) as it came with a schutz gun threaded to accept the UPol bottles and I assume it would have the correct length suction tube.

Yes. Good point, I forgot to mention that I used the tintable UPol! UPol calls for any solvent based tint. So, I had my local TrueValue hardware color match the dark brown B-pillar trim and mix a quart of 'XO Rust' oil based enamel (their version of Rustoleum).

Once you have the tint, it is as simple as mixing at a 10% ratio.
 
I just got back from being out of town on business and am pretty well beat. However, I couldn't resist throwing the carpet into the cruiser to see what the overall look is going to be. I'll post pics with and without the flash; neither are perfect representation of the color:

The carpet kit looks like it's going to work out pretty good. While it's not a perfect molded fit, I think it will look appropriate for the era. I also ended up going with loop carpet instead of cut pile to keep consistent with the look:
