Thursday bump and video

haha, that 2nd video sounded like an 80's video game with 8bit sound card

Haha awesome video, yeah this is still moving along very slowly, I wish it was a lot faster, especially after losing badly to a 991 Carrera S from a stop light in the grey truck today. Lol. But funding and parts are the issues. I have everything for the suspension now, except the King shocks and I just heard from them for the 3rd time. First time it was, "oh yeah we can make anything you want", second time was, "uhh yeah we can't do that", 3rd time was, "we can't do a 3" drop but we can do 1.25" front and 2" rear". They have had my money for weeks so I guess I will try that and see how it goes.

Good to hear on the heads... That just saved me a few grand... Guess I can put that towards j pipe manifold and the fueling system re-engineering that I hadn't budgeted for lol

Haha that thing is pretty wild! I would need some airbags though. haha.

I am not really much into drag racing but this is kind of cool. Lots of big inline 6's not to mention the Scion with the 1FZ swap. Seems it is driven by a pretty blonde named Nikki. They seem to be having a pretty tough time dialing it in. I emailed the shop that supposedly built the car but haven't gotten a reply. They have some pretty nice parts, like that intake manifold that would be awesome. And the 1FZ is starting to sound pretty sweet now that they are opening it up!!

Needed a place for some numbers.

Deck height 9.585"
Connecting Rod length 6.063"
Piston compression height 1.653" or 1.553" (42mm or 39mm) CP is 42mm.
Stroke 3.740"

Piston head clearance =
9.585-(6.063+1.653+(3.740/2))

+0.001"

Stock head gasket 0.053"

Cometic MLS - 0.051, 0.053, 0.060"
Cometic MLX - 0.040" <---- too tight.

Want more compression? Just weld some nickels on top of the pistons. :D

Haha no, I have 10:1 Pistons, I was just looking at head gasket thickness and quality. The newer MLX gaskets only come in 0.040" though and stock is the 0.053" I am going to lose some of that compression cleaning up the combustion chambers but I don't think I have valve clearance for 0.040"

Really I just wanted a place to put all the specs it took me a while to find. So that I am not looking through an old notebook or something.

Well I have 3 days off between Spring and Summer semesters and I am hoping to get some work done on the slowest project on mud. haha.

I pulled the rest of the flares, the third row, the second row, all the seat belts, replaced the normal battery with the Odyssey 925 in stock location for now.

I was really hoping for the custom shocks to show up but was told 3 days ago, I have 2 more weeks to wait. I think tomorrow just for s***s and giggles I will throw the wheels on even though it is going to have a lot of wheel gap.

I was going to try and have it taken up to @35inchoverdrive and have them do an axle swap between my silver non-elocked 450 and the black elocked 450, but I am not sure if that is in the cards.

I have a pretty comprehensive suspension setup I am waiting to layout and take pics of when the shocks finally show up.

Oh s*** what have I done??? Haha!! It definitely looks better in person but it definitely needs that 2-3" drop and a serious cleaning!

holy s***, lololol. Are those te37's?

Since it's Ryan's, I'm guessing they are legit Volks.
It's a different kinda of 37's

They are legit Volk TE37 Ultra's. Lol

It actually looks good as s***! I can not wait to get the suspension and paint done!!! Just wait. Lol

Love the Black / Bronze combo, just heat the springs for instant gratification!
or you can just call up the whole neighborhood for a quick load on the suspension

Haha no I will wait and do it right. Still waiting for the custom shocks anyways so can't be in too big of a hurry, but once I get the paint to shine a bit and get the filth off from underneath the flares I will get a real picture.

Any conclusions regarding quality of Cometic MLS vs OEM?
