3. "the lx" .... nothing special or exciting
4. 225k
5. Bone stock, other than the new (clear) turn signals I've installed, and upgraded speakers/sub
6. Currently daily driver, will be built into a dailyable mild offroader/overlander once I sell my current offroader. Sliders, lift + tires to start with (eventually....). Was lucky to snag one with factory lockers that was meticulously maintianed.

Picking up my first ever Yota tomorrow. Grew up in the 22re pickups via my dad, but ended up being more of an XJ guy. Recently an old friend/mechanic was selling his LX when I couldn’t find another local XJ to replace my body, sooo...

Frame, underbelly & body are really solid, well taken care of and still runs nice. I don’t think it was ever wheeled, just a daily, which is my main use as well, but lots of snow and nasty weather here. Will probably only ever see a bit of overland camping up north at most. I tow my 18ft boat & have an in-progress micro-home on wheels that sometimes gets towed as well.

208K
4.5L
4” OME (would prefer 2.5-3)
315 Duratracs
Not sure on gearing yet, but it’s not a dog

Still figuring out all suspension parts, but I believe they did necessary corrections. He also did various gaskets, water pump, oil pump seal, radiator, silicone hoses all around, new plugs/wires/cap & rotor, all brakes, rear ujoints, front bearings, fluid/grease service & some other stuff, so it’s pretty turn-key. Not sure which OME but a little on the stiffer side. Not triple locked, but oh well. Going to start with some basics like CDL switch, yellow box, so on. Will probably switch to preferred KO2 before winter, and probably refinish wheels in black. Came with a full size KO2 spare (brand new) and also a full size roof rack. Paid 6k.

  3. “The Rig” (Though note...I refer to it in the feminine)
  4. ~220k mi: All CA miles up until 208k. Very well maintained/serviced. No rust. Applied Waxoyl when moved Rig to MA. Serviced by LC experts
  5. Stock: Interior Upgrades include 7” Apple Play Stereo System, amplifier, upgraded speakers including separately powered subwoofer. Installed sound dampening barrier in all doors and all of rear. Other: Canvas seat coverings and new LED headlights both low and high beam.
  6. 275/70/16 KO2s (no suspension work)
  7. Pseudo Daily Driver, mild and infrequent offroad to date.
  8. Other: LC experts/enthusiasts say it is one of the cleaner trucks they’ve seen/serviced. Keeping an eye on coolant levels (still fine but pressure is down a smudge). Also Ball joint where axel meets wheel (sorry not a mechanic) requires packing every now and then. Goals to incrementally make more Offroad worthy. Next key repair likely to be front Axel rebuild, which will probably cause cascading set of decisions re suspension..., which then sets off decisions about armor (and thus next big investment). Until then, enjoying it working well. And, btw: removed the side steps...hated those...
  9. Would appreciate any feedback or ”learned lessons” about next stage of decisions for suspension. I don’t need massive suspension lift...my use case would be at max riding trails in mountain areas (power lines). Probably not rock climbing, but certainly could see need to have some clearance, but I understand implications of impacting ride geometry. Issue probably putting weight for armor and gear in back over time.

6. Doubles as my daily driver and camping rig. Some light/moderate wheeling to access some of the spots others can't :)
7. Pics - the second one is what convinced me to make the sliders my first purchase

Been lurking around the forum for a little while and figured it was about time to start contributing...the shared knowledge of everyone here has saved me some money on maintenance and I've learned a lot along the way. The LX is my first vehicle I've owned (bought in my last year of college) and I couldn't be happier - its taken me anywhere I want to go so far.
