Recently got a 1994 FJZ80 with a bad main rod bearing.
Working at a freshen up on the whole unit, plus half way into swapping a 6bt, 47RH to FJZ80 Tcase.
Will have a 850J lift, MAF drop brackets from a second parts cruiser I have.

Will start posting pictures when I can get them on my PC and get more familiar with posting on the site.

Thanks for this excellent resource on Cruiser to anyone who has contributed!

97LX W/ J springs & 315s next to my friend’s ‘84 22r pickup with leaves out of some other Yota & homemade shackle boost on 33s, custom flatbed, named The Goat. It’s a beautiful beater.

Hi folks,
Just got this '97 Cruiser from a fella in Houston who owned for 7 years and bought from the original owners who were in northern California. 280K miles and hopefully many many more to go, starting with a roadtrip hopefully soon. Thank you in advance for providing the info that you have provided on this forum so far, as it was invaluable in helping me know what I needed to look for and watch out for.

Cheers,
Shan

I know this isn’t a “post a picture of your 80” thread, but it stopped raining for once, and she got new shoes yesterday.

Wish I were able to source bumpers around here.

Clean truck man, like it a lot.

You can probably find an ARB no? Cruisin Offroad is also in BC and have heard good things about him, but he kind of makes to order. I've seen him make some stout stuff. No idea if it is costly to make the bumper cross the border.

No outfits around here carrying anything like bumpers, and no roads connecting Juneau (nor most towns in SE AK) to anywhere, unfortunately. I imagine it would be cheaper to barge up from Seattle than cross the border. Just future thinking… really don’t “need” the upgrade. Money better spent on.... gas, and general maintenance, hah. What I “need” is a DC front shaft, and maybe TC underdrive gears.

New stock front bumper would be nice, though... the one rusty part of this truck, other than trailer hitch.

Makes sense. New Toyo AT3s correct? How do you like them. I opted to go with the ATII Extremes, for price and availability.

Hello, new to the community. June 2019, I visited the Philippines and found a LC80 behind my uncles property, stock and diesel. fell in love with it and wanted one. fast forward to july 2020, I found this LX450 on offer up, equipped with ironman 4x4 bumper, metal tech sliders, OME lift and pro comp wheels. Since owning it, I added rhino rack, cruiser tech rear bumper with dual swing, moved over my ikamper and goose gear camp kitchen from the 4 runner, and my wife found and gifted me these JDM wheels Enkie decim 16x8 -28 offset from crooober/UP garage in japan. Looking forward to more endless nights reading, learning and browsing the forum about these awesome trucks.

I have just purchase it .. It will be on a boat in 2-3 weeks .. It
will take about 3 weeks to hit Galveston TX .. So mid October ..
Purchase ~$30k .. I am selling the BJ70 as it would cost $20k
to do an engine swap .. Even though I like the BJ70 and
especially its looks, I have decided that is will be cheaper to
go this direction and have a vehicle with much lower mileage ..

I purchase this vehicle from Cars From Japan .. I was given an
$800 discount because I told the guy I would commit to buy
within 24 hours and that was enough to get a discount .. I
attempted to purchase a 1996 vehicle but I was told by the
seller Kengi San that I could only purchase vehicles that were
25 years or older .. Lots of 1900-1995 vehicles for sale .. This
one was the only one with the 24v engine ..

Moving to New Mexico for a job .. LOT's of great hunting
& Fishing there .. Will be looking to see If I can't get my
14 ft camper trailer lifted so that I can drag it into the
outback of New Mexico ..

I found another RHD 1995 with about 45k miles on it .. It has the 24v engine and it is available for export .. $32K plus shipping (about $2,500), import tax 2.5% and customs fee's bout $200 ..

I recently picked up my first '97 80 from an estate sale. It needed major clean up work as it sat for 20+ years & had mice, but is getting up to par quickly, then the build will start.

Had this delivered to my house this morning.

1. Year and model - 1997 FZJ80
2. Name of owner - Jasen
3. Name of rig - Undecided.
4. Mileage - 253K
5. Mods - OME 2" lift, Bowfin Cruiser rooftop rack.
6. How the truck is used - Family adventures, dirt bike hauling.

Been wanting something with 4WD and enough ground clearance so we can go see the stuff that can't be seen in my wife's Honda Accord. I wasn't looking for a rock crawler, just something that can tackle the passes in Colorado. I think this will do it well. Also looking forward to taking my kid camping somewhere that doesn't have another noisy campsite right next to us. Biggest challenge will be finding places to go, as I'm in Dallas TX. All land is private and nearly all roads around here are paved. Going to have to travel to Hill Country, Arkansas or Colorado/NM to use it as intended.

I work from home mostly, even before COVID, so it'll be my DD even though I don't go anywhere during the week except random errands. I have motorcycles as backup and used to use them to commute daily, so I'm not completely reliant on the LC.

Previous Owner's image. I need to get plates this week so I can take it out for more photos.

Edit: Got her washed up today so I took some photos of my own.
