Hello,

I am Clint, I have been waiting for many years to purchase my
FJ55.
My wife did give me permission for this purchase as I have made bad purchases in the past which I get to hear about monthly!
So, the vehicle sits in the drive way and first person to see it was my neighbour a retiree who walks his dogs and he said, " I see you bought a piece of junk!" well I at least I do not have to buy a pooper scooper...
The second person to see it was my mother in law and she even offered me $200 to remove it, so I told to her to keep the $200 and invest in driving lessons! (I wish I could say that!)
It is all good, due I have three young minds which whom I have successfully transformed that yes Toyota Landcruiser is the greatest!
They call this a Pig, but I call it The Millenium Falcon! You've never heard of the Millennium Falcon? She's the ship that made the Kessel Run in less than 12 parsecs. She's fast enough for you, old man
The good thing is the motor runs...
The bad news is there is just a little bit of rust (sarcasm) the clutch needs to be replaced and some other minor details...

So, I have a question and am hoping I could get some input.
Thank you,

My frame serial number is for April 1977, but the engine serial number is for 1975.. Is this the original engine? I will be posting more questions eventually..

Nice one. How are the floor panels? I'm jealous of that dash pad. Not jealous of the rust though. :)

your introduction leads me to believe you have finally found a second place to call home....welcome to the madness. I'm gunna guess that your motor is from a slightly older(slightly rustier) rig. It might be the OG, I dunno how many motors toyota had layin about waitin for bodies to stuff into Post up some pics of the engine bay.

I have already contacted Bobm about rockers and panels, the plan is to replace old rust with new metal, it will be used as a daily driver.
Not looking at making it a trailer queen or a rock climber...
This is just something I can bust up some of my neighbours front lawn with!
Can anyone recommend a good oem clutch kit for me, I have looked at a few, but I have not come to a decision on which one is the best...

Thank you , for all your input, and May the Force be With You...
Millenium Falcon Out!

any chance that truck came from colorado?

This vehicle came from Saskatchewan, previously from Oregon, I kind of figured that this was not the original motor.
I will not be able to start my transformation but I will be ordering all of the parts, as I live in Canada and we all know it is time to set up the igloo and get my tonton ready as well as if I start now my wife will turn into Rancor...
I tried to post more pictures but, this site will not let me due it says I am over capacity. Is there a way around this?
Thank you,

You get to post more pics after you hit 10 posts. Nice to see another pig in the neighborhood.

Saskatchewan. Only 2 things come from Saskatchewan and that car ain't got no horns.

Saskatchewan is great for finding old cars with little rust. I spent over a decade there and saw some real awesome cars. Made up for their s***ty CFL and the s***tier Roughriders in the CFL. (CFL outlawed tailgating so I'm bitter). Looks like a fun ride once she's cleaned up a bit.

Best.

blown away at how nice your interior looks compared to the exterior... nice find!
here is a little inspiration for ya... might help with your clutch too.

I have been busy working on this and I have rebuilt the door hinges, replaced the clutch, and park brake and the most time consuming is cutting out the rust and welding in new metal. For every pound of metal that I cut out 2 more pounds in the form of rust falls out. Thanks Bob.M for the new metal the rockers are awesome keep up the great work.

My wife did give me permission

Post fail. Delete and save the myth of the Alpha male....

first person to see it was my neighbour a retiree

At the first naysay, my neighbors know I'll start driving the F350 home, whose 6.0L thinks it's in Siberia, even at 100F, and rattles, pings, and PowerSmoke's for the first half hour of startup.

If that doesn't work, I'll run the quad up and down the cul-de-sac until they submit and cease to complain about my rattle canned 80, muddy FJC, or any other number of vehicles that remain in my driveway.

I notified the retiree on my street, who can tell me where the leaves in my yard blew from, that I'd be out of town for a few days and he made a comment to the effect "used Land Cruiser lot" even though I don't have ANY pigs in the driveway, right now.

I have a special gift for him when I return.

The second person to see it was my mother in law

She's jealous of all the attention you'll be giving this pig....

Nice work on the hinges, Clint. Been my pet project, so any info would be great.

If you were any closer, I'd offer a shell, since one of mine looks pristine in comparison, but the fact of the matter is, with Bob's kick ass panels and products, ANY pig can be returned from the grips of rust.

Keep posting up progress with regularity!!!!
