@rkymtnflyfisher

You know CPT Ryan, I’m no stranger to a belligerent, chin out Irish approach to diamond plate or an aluminum tub. Fact is 2.0 may be changing hands, philosophically speaking. @65swb45 called it a gentrification. He’s partially right. I think 2.0/3.0 may end up soaking up the sun in the land of Cush (FL) w/Ms Revenge piloting the Mule up and down the boulevard. Diesel, gas YOTA, non YOTA or other is OK by me. Doing my course of action analysis now.

Segway:

This is where I Chanel my inner philistine. Chunga needs a Mule. 45 or a 40. I got caught up in a family drama and missed an opportunity to buy a 45 out of Cali via @Bear. Glad it went to a good home.

Said all that to say, ā€œI’m going to look for something a little rough around the edges/functional and unrefined. Kinda like me…

My buddy the CSM story from yesterday:

The way, way way redacted version to protect the guilty.

ā€œHey, remember that time I got drunk in Baghdad and stole a chariotā€

ā€œYeahā€ šŸ» 🤣🤣🤣

@RevISK Thanks for the heads up and pro tip(s).

ST is held up in Miami. Common occurance.

Can’t imagine why a large crate/box/container would be delayed. :smokin:

You should get an email to sign. Just sigb and date. Moves quickly after that.

I’ll keep an eye on it. I’ll reach out to Alberto if I don’t see any movement on the FEDEX request. Thanks againšŸ‘šŸ»šŸ‘ˆšŸ»

FEDEX: ā€œA detailed commodity breakdown with itemized description and values is required.
Recommended action: Shipper or Importer must provide a statement or revised invoice with detailed commodity breakdownā€.

That’s the thing you should just need to sign and date. Claudia should be handling all that for you.

@Jdc1

Dispatches from the front…

Custom brackets to account for the offset on the ā€œOld Airā€ application. I’m just the field correspondent, the real, action is happening in Akron OH. Should be noted that this is the work-through IE Work/Op in progress.

Semper FI Sarge.....WPNs Company, 1/3 - 1st Marine Brigade, a long, long long time ago...Let me put it this way, I road the Tarawa when she was new and manned the rails as it steamed passed Iwo... The salad years indeed!:cheers: Just heard the other day she is no longer in service...

The ole' "flux capacitor" still functions. I was surprised at how much radiant heat it put out once my Land Cruiser warmed up. While I do like to think about paint this year. Most likely it will be next season before I "git round to it"....In the mean time I am chasing leaks, wires (real or imagined), parts new/used, and trying to keep er' afloat for another year...
Really, really old comment, but you wouldn't happen to know a Robert (Bob) McManis, would you? Retired Navy Capt.

Sorry if I missed it, but are you using an old air kit or piecing it together? AC is on my short list for my 40 and I don’t really care for the Vintage Air unit looks.

It’ll be an Old Air Hurricane evaporator and vents and then Vintage Air in the engine bay. Their Alt/Compressor mount is pretty nice. The only thing that I like about the VA evap over the Old Air is that it doesn’t use as much space behind the dash.

I’ll be piecing together the hose set to get a cleaner look.

I’ll be watching with interest!

As opposed to just normal creepy watching I guess.

Back in 1976, the Toyota dealership installed A/C in my 1974 FJ40. It was outstanding as it looked like only the vents mounted directly below the lower dash pads. It did not eat up the passenger leg room and that’s about all I remember about it. Was 49 years ago.

I have been looking at A/C for my ā€˜75 and I am looking for something along those lines…would someone have a suggestion? I wasn’t thinking along the lines of mix and match

Funny you put it that way. Seems like I just typed that out yesterday..šŸ˜Ž

Do you know which ships he skippered? All of my USMC days were spent in the 1st Mar Div. All West PAC deployments. I was on everything from LST’s to LHA’s.

I get it. I don’t care for the VA vents either.

My 2cents worth of input was focused on the aesthetics. When we discussed this in the winter 23/24 the ā€œmix n matchā€ was the best solution. Options and $$$ = selection criteria. Like J said above each option had pros/cons. The OA vents allow you better flexibility with the mounting location. J did fab up some brackets that allowed for a more recessed look on the mounting pointsā€¦šŸ†

This is MHO opinion. The OA vents allow for greater flexibility. 2.0 will have vents mounted outboard on the driver/pass area and vents mounted central.

Or, if you wanted, you can mount them closer to the center of the lower dash in a more conventional configuration.

The mix and match solution is not difficult to source. Just say’en.
