You may need to fill me in on some details….I really REALLY don’t want to put that chunky box in front of my passenger seat.

This unit mounts in the same location as your OE front heater. Pic shows the mock-up case used for locating your mounting points. So it’s not located in the passenger footwell area.

Which vehicle is that for? I see they don't offer Toyota on their site. I'm assuming they are pretty much all the same.

The only thing that is Toyota specific in the Vintage kit are the engine bay components, Vintage Air sells the Toyota specific condenser and compressor bracketry. And for those with a cowl vent, you have to modify the Vintage Air evap or remove the dash tab anyways.

So, what you're saying is that all Old Air boxes are the same size? I'm not a fan of Vintage air. Didnt know about this setup until now. I like that the box is pretty close to the size of the OG heater.

They have a ton of different options- some under body and compact etc…. The Difference between the 3100 and 2100 series is where the lines come out of the unit.

Dispatches from the easy chair.

Mech shop/RCLC doing yeoman’s work. Ultrasonic cleaning rooting out the last pockets of resistance and new rotors topping off the knuckle rebuild. Victory lap ensues.. @Jdc1

Soft top should be moving soon. Flurry of paperwork yesterday to FedEx and TROA. Some very minor confusion REF: The description of goods on the required CBP form. Timing is working out. 👍🏻

Old Geezer Buddy and I made the trek out to the Hunting Camp. Everything looks to have held up nicely. Staged the windows and doors in preparation for warmer temps. Working for Grandma Chungas this week so the plan is to hit the Meade Hall next week.

It’s funny with them and the forms. Sometimes I’ve had to describe in detail what is in the crate (without really knowing what’s in the crate) other times it’s like Prime Now shipping and it arrives almost impossibly fast with no hubbub at all.

What’s in the crate…What’s in the crate…..What’s in the crate!!!

FedEx seemed to have more than one POC. But, I think we worked it out. Pretty excited to see installed.

I can’t wait to see all these soft tops that are happening
It really is such a great configuration.

Summer time fun..I drove 2.0 all last season sans top. Not bad on the highway but, stuck in traffic for more than ten minutes was like a slog through the sauna..

And, it should be noted, I’ll be sporting the patented “ Yak Roll”. Frosty beverage coming your way. 🍺👈🏻😎

I literally changed it from “box” to “crate” because Se7en was all I could think about when writing it.

Funny you put it that way. Seems like I just typed that out yesterday..😎

Do you know which ships he skippered? All of my USMC days were spent in the 1st Mar Div. All West PAC deployments. I was on everything from LST’s to LHA’s.
I got the list! So, he was on the Tarawa, Dubuque, Bristol County, Durham, O’Hare, the Bexar, The Randolph. Tarawa 85-87

Ok, pulling this out of rectal database. There were at least three other ships that I was bounced on and off of depending on where and when we were missioned. I deployed on Five WESPAC’s from 78-83. You could say I know myself around a San Miguel..

So, going from memory tempered by 40 plus years of rememberizing and a career, that took me in other directions.

LHA-1 and LHA-3 on 3 different floats
LPD-6 and one other?
LST- 2 different ships but I’m having a hard time recalling the name(s). 1st ride was in a typhoon steaming toward Pearl Harbour out of Subic Bay PI. Pretty sure I left a Bio-marker in the South China Sea..🤮

I doubt your “skipper” could pull me out of a lineup. I wasn’t invited from the troop berthings up to O country to discuss the battle of Salamis, Jutland or Midway. 😁

Although, we may have crossed paths at some point. 🫡

Follow up on the OA installation. Disclaimer: work in progress.

Better vis on the Hurricane. You can see how the unit protrudes a wee bit from the dash. Three vents in place. Fourth vent will go just to the left of the OA unit. IMHO, this setup allows for a better concentration on the driver and passenger side, as opposed to the traditional “centric” setup. 2 cents worth of opinion. YMMV.

I have a dumb/ crazy idea.

Idea- cut up an old heater box to go around the O.A unit? Not that I hate how the unit looks, I just wonder if it can be done. 🤔
Anything can be done- I thought about that and my opinion is that might add more bulk and draw more attention. Once the rig is on all 4 on the ground it should be back of mind after awhile.

I wondered that as wel as far as adding bulk. I agree that once everything is done it won’t stick out as much.

Looking Forward to final install
