If you get creative with the filters and some -AN fittings it will be pretty clean looking. Don’t forget you can plug the return at the Sniper and use an external regulator down near the pump to eliminate another line in the engine bay. There are a million ways to do the install, as long as you get 60psi of clean fuel and make sure to do a good job on the wiring, you can’t go wrong. PS, your carb solenoid is ignition +12volts.

Got it. My DUI is inbound, so I have some time to explore the options. The mule is operationally capable and I’m not going to initiate any tear down. Some lessons from the “past” stick with you.

Besides, as long I can make to a honey hole before Ryan digs out from the spring snow I’ll call that a success.

Start it up as it is now and make sure the timing is set and everything is good to go. You can run the sniper on the old ignition. Probably want to start it up, make sure everything is dialed in and then do the DUI install. A fuel pressure gauge is a good thing to install when you do the lines as well. DUI install with the carb would work out ok too.

Rog. I’m doing a tune up in the next week or so. Trying to make sure everything is up to snuff and ready before I do the install. I am however, leaning toward dizzy swap during the tune up. Still kinda‘ hesitant over cutting a hole in my OE fuel tank...But then again, why not.

Took a ride on the ”way back” machine this afternoon. Just before taking an extended hiatus in the Land of Nod, I had been working on the world record for alternator/ V regulator swaps in a single thread. Sooo, I took a “look see” at the alternator today, then remembered my field expedient answer to a fractured 3 blade connector.

Hoped on over to Vintageteq @ToyotaMatt and loaded up some much needed bits for the mule, IE correct three blade connector.

Good bye Blue

Another chapter from the way back machine. Early on, I found a great deal on some blue silicon high temp heater hose. It worked very well but, it just didn’t fit the utilitarian nature of the Mule. Figure it’s time to update.

So, I found some MILSPEC 4-ply, full wrapped, high temp heater hose to use.

The mule is currently sporting a Champion aluminum radiator. I’m currently looking for a replacement OE type radiator in a 3 or 4 row. Probably paint the fan shroud while I’m at it.

:rolleyes:Perfect excuse to try and line up body panels again.....

@65swb45

Mark-

Thanks for the follow-up, thoroughly enjoyed the conversation. I am using the “back to you ten fold” as a mantra for future endeavors.

I would have enjoyed a lengthier discussion on the intrinsic art of biscuit making but, I caught the Mrs, a.k.a. The “Dark One”, out of the corner of my eye, exiting through the back door with the garden shears and my new hip waders.

Probably just trimming off the price tags. She’s so thoughtful that way......

Sounds like harvest season. :smokin:

In the Land of Nod, that involves “100 pounds yeast and some copper line”..CHR....So I hear.

The catchword, taught to me in chat by none other than @UltraFJ40, is ‘allegedly.’ 😉

And in re CHR, @Texican can vouch that I can rip a pretty good cover on an acoustic 🎸

This is as close to summoning the devil as you can get! Next thing you know we'll be looking at curvy gingers in the basement of mudchat.
