Prepping the passenger fender for installation. Test fit the Overflow bottle and coil. The mule is minus the ignitor so mounting the coil is a up in the air. I like the top of the fender option.

Cleaned up the center console. Apparently the "beverage" holder still functions. My brother the "Master SGT" did the honors. The "MSG" was instrumental in helping with this evenings effort and provided the second set of hands necessary to install the passenger fender. I could only take a "profile shot" (OPSEC?) on threat of bodily harm and excommunication from the family. The beverage in the holder was my way of saying thanks!!

The USMC provided background music this evening via four CH-53's and a Cobra Gun Ship on the airstrip...Nothing like a little rotor wash to set the mood....:astronaut:

Sorting out some of the gaskets..Missing one of the apron gaskets. I'll check this weekend in the "garage"..I have a couple different sets to include the old ones...Some of the issues you run into transporting the work effort 135 miles...

Fender mounted after much cursing and consternation..Everything is still loose IOT add the fender apron and allow access to that side of the engine bay.

Need some help identifying a couple of mystery parts. Usually I am pretty good labeling parts as I remove them. But, I am afraid these came of during the initial "lets take this thing apart" phase......As my good friend and fellow geezer Danny will attest, memory goes 1st and I/we can't remember the other thing(s) that slip by when your not paying attention...

So, if any of you can help out a SR Citizen I am most appreciative. The resistor(?) is/was grounded on the shock mount if that helps. The hanger was stashed with my horn. That probably means nothing but I just thought I would add it for flavor...

My good bud @pngunme says what happens on the "trail" stays on the "trail" , or something to that effect...

What I said was "Its the smell of the trail that billows my sail".

When we rotated from Holland to Austin, TX, our eldest daughter was a freshman in Leander School. (outside of AUstin). Leander's school song said, "...meander through Leander..." - it drove Andy nuts that she was supposed to "wander aimlessly" through high school.

oh, did you hear that our friends in Bolivia had their FJ40 stolen?

Its funny the things the good Lord puts in your head. I've been thinking about them all day...

When I don't know where parts came from, I simply throw them away.

Chuckle :lol::lol::lol:

I needed that....Reckon that big coffee can of "extra stuff" I've been collecting over the years can now be exorcised! I wonder if anyone needs a spare flux capacitor?

Well I one is for holding a hose on the intake manifold. I think the other item is a resistor for your distributor.

I can't wait to start putting mine back together. Checked out your entire thread this morning. some how I have' not been getting updates on your project. Your moving alone nicely.

The mule was de-smogged earlier. But, I am going to keep the charcoal canister
IOT keep the fumes/smell down. I'll clean it up this weekend and re-install.

I have my charcoal canister hooked up and it performs admirably!! But, I need something to handle the other smells that pervade 44 during trips with daBoise... I'm not saying its daBoise ... just that "something is happening there and I don't know what it is"...

Mystery part #1 solved. Retaining bracket for the overflow tank hose. I guess that explains why I had it stored with the passenger side horn.
