What engine did this have originally? I’ve got some chassis/body manuals with body electrical info at least... got them from @Onur.
Same one I have. I don’t think they had separate manuals. It’s still pretty in-depth on testing each device.

Decided to go ahead and clean up the factory wiring under the hood, and I found some terrible wire splices and missing connectors, luckily I had a huge pile of extra wire and connectors that work.... this is a connector for the front driver side turn and park light.

There are a few extra wires On the driver side... is this where the windshield washer fluid container /punp was mounted?

Bought a battery hold down kit, and added a new ground cable to go from the battery to the driver side mounting point on the engine.

This had the carb'd 1fz. So, same engine, now it is fuel injected.

Windshield washer bottle and pump are on passenger side front, just behind the headlight.

First off, got your pdf. Thanks.

I had two wires on the passenger front that I could not figure out. One is switched hot, or I thought maybe a horn with a broken horn switch.

Will dig into the manuals and see what I can figure out. I may ping @WarDamnEagle to check out his wiring if I can't figure out what an wiring leg is to go to. Who else has a LHD fzj75 on the board?

The horn circuit is a green/red wire (at least at the steering wheel and combo switch) and is ground switched I believe. Not much info in the manual.

I just got back to the desert. There is a relay for the wipers and washer. It’s high in the driver’s kick plate near the door. Connection is at the bottom; pretty good size connector. Happy to try to trace down anything you need.

BAM! One issue fixed. Did not think about grounded side being switched. Hooked up a horn to the two wires on the passenger side front corner and we have horns!

Thanks to all that shot me links to different manuals and wiring diagrams.... unfortunately, they are not giving me the pages I am looking for, a loom diagram, so I even know what circuit I am working on.

I took a holiday from the wiring for a few seconds and got the driveshafts on with all factory Toyota Bolts!! If you recall when I got it, there were only two OEM bolts and no matching bolts in the lot. I also put on the wheels so it can roll off the lift, so we can get under the dash to work on the electrics. Any hints about pulling enough of the dash out to work on stuff, yet not tear it down to nothing?

@WarDamnEagle ... or anyone with a 1fz, lhd rig. starting on the driver side -- engine bay side. The harness goes out the firewall below the clutch master. Looking to figure out what I should have wires connecting to.. If it is the engine, done, easy, don't need those wires. If it is something else I am not thinking of, well that is my question. It looks like your winshield wiper resevoir by the air cleaner? Can you look at the pump for what wire colors are going in?

So here is a sketch of what the harness is going to on the driver side. There are three looms coming out of the main loom at one spot. First one I am guessing were to the engine, with a 11 plug and 6 plug on that loom. second is to the starter wire, and final is a 5 wire section. Not sure what it is going to?

Then it goes down the fender to about past your charcoal cannister and branches off again. Now, let me be clear, I have identifed the following:

Coil, ignitor, the little grey thing related to ignitor, turn signals headlights and alternator.

So what else is up there? I have three wires: red with black stripe, black with red stripe and blue that is switched 12v power.

The windshield washer pump appears to be blue with red stripe and blue with orange stripe. I would have to pull it all apart to get a better photo.

The wiring harness comes out between the clutch master and the inside fender. It appears to go in many different directions! Apologies as I know you want specifics.

Sorry for all the questions....

1. Where is the wiper bottle located?

2. Can you take some pictures of along the left side of the fender in the engine bay? What else is mounted in there?

The photo of mine that you posted above shows the wiper bottle. It doesn't have a cap on in the photo. Let me see what other photos I have of the engine. It's dark thirty over here. I'm traveling in the morning but will take some pics if I have time.

Thanks.

83710-60370 speedo cable says no longer available, anyone know of other options for it..... looks like every other older toyota cable.

I will go ahead and pull it out and measure the length, I assume that is the only real difference....

Something like this should work, I would think...

UPDATE: took it out this morning, 88 inches long, same ends, so ordering this one.

Well, the good news is we got the wiper motor tested and found some bad wires. Thanks to @kc_chevota for the help.... We found the wires for the windshield washer fluid, after Rob tore out the column and cleaned the contacts as they were so dirty it would not complete the circuit. We also found some toasted wires on the wiper circuit, and replaced those. The good news is that all works now.... except the wiper arms will not mount up. Someone replaced the wiper the stud things that attach to the wiper arms. Look how wrong the angles are.

@WarDamnEagle thanks for the pictures. I ordered the windshield wiper tank, now that I understand where it sits. Can't think of any other wires we need going up front, and your pics did not expose anything else, so we did trimming on the harness.
