Sorry to hear your dealing with a post install vibe. Give us a ring at the shop and I'd be happy to offer you a free set of shims. Install should take under 30 minutes and only requires loosening the 4 u-bolts. If you install them and give us favorable results on your vibe, I'll happily make them a standard offering in all of our 55 kits for the future. To date not all 55 kit installs have needed them, perhaps 1 in 3. I suspect more could have benefited from them? Ring us and we'll get you a set sent out, please follow-up and let us know if that fixed the problem. Easy add on to the kit.

Nice stuff Kurt! Thanks for supporting the Iron Pig!

No worries. it's not your fault and I do not expect you to comp me shims. As you said 1/3 people need them, so including them in the kit would just be a waste of money on your part. I appreciate the generous offer, but it isn't necessary.

Thanks for sharing the pics. Maybe someone could show some detail pics of where the rear shackle hanger was moved, possibly with dimensions? (Or is that little detail included with the kit instructions?) Can't wait to do this.
I will measure tomorrow.

5" back on mine.

The kit does come with a part diagram showing which parts go where and recommending to move the rear perch back 5"

But I insist! :D

Bringing up an old thread.
This is my 1977 FJ55V.

HZJ75R Leaf Springs.
2" Superior Engineering Shackles.
Rear Shackles relocated 120mm *no photo yet.

Shackles will be reduced in height to show the difference and work with better suspension articulation.

I'm looking to refurbish my OME springs and I was having difficulty locating new leaf spring clip liners. Given that several 55 owners have gone this route and will need at some point to replace these liners, I thought this thread the best place to add this information.

As some of you might know, I am in the middle of a frame off of the 55 that was once owned by BBQ Boy. It appears he bought the OME springs from Cruiser Outfitters in 2015 (post #94). According to ARB, CS006F and CS006R need spring liner kit CLK57 and CLK39 respectively (so two sets of each total). Unfortunately it appears that those are discontinued. There is a 2 meter generic kit, part# R274BK. I found it in Australia for $9US but shipping is around $70US. I also found it in another US vendor's stock list for a similar price but they are currently out.

Kurt (@cruiseroutfit), I reached out to your staff today and they were very helpful in getting the generic kit ordered from ARB USA. Unfortunately they are out of stock and waiting on a shipment from Australia but these are easy to slip in at anytime. Also it's less than $10 so well within my budget! 😂

Do you think Alcan in GJ may be able assist with the spring clip liners? Not sure if there are specifics to the OME brand. I had good dealings with them on or 69.

I don't know Jon. I made a modest attempt to find something generic in the same size and came up empty. To be clear, my search wasn't exhaustive by any means. I can slip these in at any point so there's no issue for me to wait on the OME material.

Do you have pictures? I cant find those kits to see what you're lookin for.
Different kit number but probably just different lengths and 2 less pieces from the kits I referenced. My springs take 6 pieces per spring (3 per side of the 3 clips). A 2 meter stick of this is more than enough to do a full set of springs and I have that on order. It's just backordered from ARB Australia at the moment via ARB USA.

I see now you are looking for something that wraps around the flat metal straps..

I'll keep my eyes open and post it here if you don't get what you need soon...

Your spot on, the 2M lengths is the way they are offering it in the future. I actually prefer it over the more expensive spring specific kits. We’ve found it super easy to measure and then cut with sharp utility blade. Unfortunately they are back ordered but they have a bunch headed to the US. We’ll get yours shipped just as soon as they arrive!

No worries. They said 4 to 6 weeks on the backorder. And it's cheap....like less than $10 cheap. Frankly it would be wonderful if that was the only missing thing on my pig in a couple of months.

The metal clips are 1" wide and the overall width of the liners is ~1 1/8". Again, no rush; I'm sure the OME material will show up at some point.

I didn't see the part @cruiseroutfit was on it only the part you were looking for help and thought I'd take a min to see what I could find since you always jump in and try to help others with part look-up.
Kurt and the boys always get it right the first time or make it right the second time, I'm sure you'll have what you need before you actually need it.
