Yeah, again I have not personally 'bench tested' these numbers (we have done so with other springs and found our method at least reliable). Next time I get a set of clean FJ55 springs I'll try to calculate some numbers out of them :D

Kurt,

I am not doubting you at all, I was just surprised. Like I said if someone asked me, I would have guessed the other way. I am sure that explains a lot!! I think I am undersprung, now that I see the stock numbers. I am running dual springs 450 main and 250 secondary.

I have the stock rear springs, sprung over, but they are a little soft so it is nice to see some numbers. Might be looking for coils.......

Awesome.. They really are such an awesome application for 55s, very neat...

They seem to be working well. AJ likely has the most miles on the OME-55 setup and he's been really happy thusfar. Its up at school with him in Montana so I have not had a chance to see how its settled a year later.

Anybody running 34x10.50 with this setup?

my 33x10.50's are doing great so far. no rubbing at all. 60 series PS box handles them well. but I have a wider 60 series rear and spacers up front. But I don't see why you couldn't do 34x10.50's. With the right backspacing it would probably work. I would like to go to a 34x10.50.

I need to get some pics compiled, and sit down and do a comprehensive write up now that I have been driving this set up for a while. I'm slow but I plan to give this thread a little more of a wrap up.

I'll be looking forward to that!

I still want to know what Rancho part numbers you are using shock wise, there are now ~20 of these OME kits out there, each seems to be using something different shock wise :D

Yes I am. they're ok, maybe a bit soft for the road, but overall good. Paid 270 for the set of four and a steering damper that's supposed to bolt right up(still have to do that part). P/ns are noted in the how shocking thread.

Nevermind.....I don't have those nice 70 series springs on my rig.....YET

Any using Doetsch Tech?

I'd venture to say yes but I'm honestly not 100% sure. The majority of the kits we've sold have been sans shocks for one reason or another, sometimes I hear back on what they are using, others times not :D

so ive got ome 75 springs in the rear of my 55 and am leaning towards fj60 springs on the front but i cant quite work out from previous posts whether or not it'll work. from my understanding the measurement between the spring locating pin and the fixed chassis end are the same but the shackle end to pin is 1" longer?? and the bushes have to be shaved down?? if anyones done this i'd love to hear from them and what theyve done

I have 75 springs in the rear with rear FJ60 springs on the front with a shackle reversal. IIRC, the rear spring perch on the front springs, just down from the firewall, were not moved; the shackle reversal used them in the stock configuration.

I have 60 axles that I am putting under my pig and at the same time I am outboarding the 60 springs, but still keeping the shackle reversal.

hope this helps.

alrighty thanks, i did some more searching and found the measurements to be the same but spring width to be slightly more on fj60 springs but u can aparently get around this by shaving the bushings down, so looks like i'll be taking this path

I'm resurrecting this. For those of us who are the fence, we really don't have much to look at. Well, there's maybe 2 photos and they aren't at great angles.
What's the update on this kit? More photos? reviews?

The kit works exactly as advertised and the guys at Cruiser Outfitters are great to work with.

You’ll also need caster shims but other than that, just order the kit Kurt put together and bolt it on.

I’ll dig up more photos or help with any specific questions you have.
