Nice weld!

Where did you source your 70 FF rear, and what is the length difference compared to the 55? Not familiar with 70 anything, but know the 60 axle housings are 70mm longer (wider) than 55’s.

70 diff is same width as the 40 (just perches need to be moved) which is the same as the 55

I bought it from @joekatana. I have also imported them from AU in the past.

Same rear drum setup as a 60 series with single cylinder, parking brake connection, and self adjusting.

Axle is the same width at the wheel mounting surface but the spring perches need to be relocated.

Here is a good source for axle info Toyota Axle Widths: 21 of 'em for Axle Swaps - Roundforge

They are the same as 60 but if buying a whole kit the 70 series drag link at the pitman arm end is different. Need that 70 end to use the 70 drag link.

And I think these pieces work really well with 60 series PS box on a 40/55 width axle. What is the easiest way to get these pieces in the States?

Bj7x pitman arm has less droop if you find it hits the springs on compression. Also a mid 80s diahatsuu rocky has a flat pitman arm with the same spline counts

I have a 70 arm and box. Considered using the 70 box but it has to mount so far forward due the the rear facing pitman. It was going to be more work than the 60 box. This 55 wont be a crawler so probably safe with the 60 setup.
