Very long wheelbase , but dependig on its inatial purpose, across the country as a pilot vehicle or around the country , obviously not gunna be great in the bush getting hang up every 2 mins and taking 3 acres to turn the thing around .

I have an extended 300mm between the wheels FJ 45, great cab and interior PO converted it to a 2 H and looks and goes well BUT i also have a HJ 45 ( My original ) and wanting to do a bit of swapsie plan is eventually to modify the FJ 45 extended chassis into a crew cab 4 door with shorter tray this should happen after i ground up rebuild my HJ 45 original so mabby another 5 years till the crew cab build starts still not sure on ideas but open to suggestions

not all vehicles are designed to be used in extreme off road situations.
i can picture a very comfortable ride due to the wheelbase, a quiet cab, tons of room, the ability to carry the stinky stuff outside the cabin. a nice set of belly bars will help with the break over angle and the tail draging.

i watched a video years ago about a stollen HUGE motor home and the kids tried to out run the cops in it. you know the type, a motor home city bus idea? i expected it to get hung up in the first few seconds after it left the pavement and this thing hauled ass over off road trails for minutes. it was a true eye opener. to think it was being piloted by some punk-ass kid who probably never driven before and compare that to someone that knows how to pick a trail ...

i think in the right hands even a limo 70 series might be surprising where it could go ...

That bumper design (front) is very cool

i looked at that one at auction in Japan back in 2005 and past it up, then Mustang bought it.
still around i see.

i have the article here somewhere about its production.

I found this pic of South Africa...

Regards from SPAIN!!!

Thanks god they bought out the 77/76

I like that truck. I would love to see more if you can find any shots of this. This one looks good.

When I first saw that truck back when I was in highschool I drooled over it. Thought it was perfect. Still think its neat but I am still fond of the 76/77.

it was a cool idea but there was rust already started when i was looking at it, the rear door windows turned me off but i seriously contemplated purchasing it since it was rare. the company that built that rig built a few more, i guess Toyota saw there was a need and in 1990 came out with the proper 4 door 70 series. the rest is history.

would i change my mind now and buy one? not sure, it is pretty cool though.
