I want I want I WANT

The 60 is to err, big in some ways, it also does not have that cool look of the 70. The 70 is to short. This is JUST perfect and is unique. I suspect non of these are in japan?

Well i live in Oman in the middle east . The pics u have posted seem to be some where near me . Do u know where in the middle east or where i can get one from ?

I like the 70 Series pickup as much as anyone ( especially the early ones ) however the "newer" they get the more they are starting to look like the Tacoma
which in my humble opinion is not a good thing.

Let's just hope the chassis doesn't go the way of the Tacoma. It's one of the last (or is it the last?) solid front axle applications Toyota makes.

Toyota is starting to "round the edges" and "soften the appearance" of the newer trucks and unfortunately the hard edges and the box like shape of the early models is one of the things that made the truck so appealing.
My .02 worth....

yeah well put.
I like my boxy 70 series.
I do like the 79 series grill and signal lights (pre 80 series looking when they still looked like the 70 series).
I need to find another grill and set of lights like that soon.

That is the most awful and pointless photochop,it was already ugly. Why did someone have to make it worse?

"americanize" is the term ...

I dont know about blaming america. I hear plenty of people here saying their new V8 76 series is too much like the FJ75 they had in the 80s:rolleyes:

Some people cant get the idea into their tiny brains that something doesnt need to be changed for changes sake, its like trying to improve the wheel.
They make Navaras and Tritons for idiots like them to drive.

I predict that if you put anything heavier than a picnic hamper in the rear it would crap itself.
A genuine load carrying box needs to be separated from the main cab to prevent cracking.
Normally these would have the added support of the roof.

yah, i see your point but many of the car makers want to score the almight American $$ so they try and copy american ideas and styles.
the newer Toyota is doing just that, huge SUV styling. the Lexus series is a fine example, plus, quiet, all the bells and wistles.
mind you, the population ... from what i can tell ... world over is becoming a bunch of skirt wearing panzies.
<shrug>
they are going to do what ever it is they need to do to sell vehicles.
doesn't mean i need to buy one.

The ultimate dual-cab ute could be as little as eight months away. A TMR source has confirmed that Toyota will be introducing a dual-cab ute version of its 70-Series LandCruiser, and we should see it as early as October this year.

Demand for a dual-cab 70-Series ute is coming from the mining sector, which currently predominantly uses the lighter duty Toyota Hilux and similar IFS (independent front suspension) dual-cab models from other manufacturers.

Given its intended market, we believe there will be two or three specification levels only, all being variations of the same basic, vinyl floored theme.

Funny to hear you use that term. 90% of the car ads. you see down here use the term "European styling" to describe their products. The truck guys only talk about having a ga-zillion horsepower in their latest offering. Even though I personally don't like any of the current Toyota trucks I have to acknowledge that the Tacoma is the number 1 selling truck in North America.
Back to my ugly "shoe box" Land Cruiser.:D

Toyota LandCruiser 70-Series Dual-Cab Expected In October 2012 | Reviews | Prices | Australian specifications

This is where Toyota could really clean up by offering an upmarket version with carpets ,electric windows and decent sound system.
The gear to do it is already inthe toyota parts bin.
I wouldnt buy one but Im sure lots of others would.
