First trip out this year with the canoes and thought I'd use that as an impetus to start a thread. Show us what you have.

Both of these are Dagger Legend 16' canoes, the green one is about 25 years old and I keep thinking this the last trip for it; it's been beat on hard. The blue is a later Dagger Legend and lighter than the green. Both have had a lot of use over the years. Load well and ride well on the FJ60.

I only have a fishing kayak but I’ve been perusing the Facebook marketplace for a canoe. Yet to nail down one that really grabs my attention.

My craigslist find. A 73 Lincoln. Paid $50.00. It had a crack in the side but came with fiberglass mat and resin to repair. Took about a week of work but enjoyable. I put my new found body skills to work. Cut out the crack and about 2 inches all around, layered fiberglass mat and resin, about 5 layers. Took a dremel to the cracks in the old gel coat. Skim coated with filler. Rolled and tipped. New seats, thwart, and yoke from Eds Canoe.

M'lady and I are big on lazy kayaking with our two boats, both by Current Designs. I used to work at a kayak shop in my hometown where I grew a fond eye for Current Designs kayaks, a few cragislist finds later and viola, cruising with kayaks on top. Her boat is a Nigel Foster designed "Rumor" in teal/orange, mine is a "Vision 150" in white.

Here's a couple.

The first one is from over 25 years ago when I helped a friend pick up some sea kayaks as she was about to start a kayak tour service on Flathead Lake in Montana. The picture was taken at Deception Pass State Park in Washington.

The second one if at Lake McDonald in Glacier National Park, Montana.

Flathead Lake in Montana
I swam in that lake years ago. Water was crystal clear and the boulders below were amazing! Talk about a real lesson in glacier movement!

The Turdle and an old 70's 17' Grumman get the job done for us!

Cool thread. A canoe is one of my regular Craigslist/FBMarketplace searches. Hopefully this summer I’ll find a deal on one.
Keep looking ...deals are out there. Be mindful of what "hogbacked" is, looks like and how it affects the boat. You really can't fix that.

Land Cruiser approved boat ramp. In an obscure location down a dirt road, the concrete ramp often has a thick layer of sandy-mud deposition on it. It's kind of a sketchy ramp but not in a bad way. Location keeps out the nicer  watercraft, also means the river tends to have fewer people in this section.

Kept my eye on Craigslist and got an Old Towne Tripper 17' red in excellent physical shape but showing sun fading and scratches. It has Kevlar skid plates on either end. Got that one for $350 which is a bargain for a Royalex canoe which are unobtainium on the new market. A year later I got an identical red Tripper with Kevlar skids in the exact condition. They look like they were purchased together new and had the same use. On my FJ62 with Yakima 78" cross bars on A1 towers the fronts are too low and block vision of street lights etc. On my Excursion this is not a problem but putting them up there is tougher. I have a full length Wilderness rack and looking at pics in this thread, I should be fine on vision with the extra height of that rack vs the Yakima.
