But I am not interested in a V8 swap. Just the tranny behind the 1FZ.
That is what I was thinking as well. Now there are TWO whole people in the world that have this thought!

It would be very interesting if TCI can take the Land Cruiser transmission case and massage the internals of a 5 or 6 gear transmission inside it, just as they did on the 4L80.
That way we can retain the TC and X-case.

It would be just awesome I think.

That is basically what Toyota did with the A750. It is the same size externally as the A343. In fact I think if you read the white paper it is just a matter of engaging the sun gears in different combinations. It has been a while since I looked at it but I am almost sure that is what they said.

I tried to send TCI an email, but their server failed somehow.

Is there anyone in Mississippi near their location who can ask some question pertinent to our issues?

It has knowthing to do with tci. Most of the stand alone controllers have a capability. It's the development of programing and tuning for each trans/engine combo that takes the time. Wholesale is doing that and will have there own price tag on the complete package.

Sorry.

I called them up today.

It's a no go for us.
Well, not entirely true if you are willing to shell out a lot of money.
One will need an adapter between the engine and the tranny and one more for the transfer case and a torque converter, I would imagine.
They won't provide any of that.
I also asked if they would consider doing the same thing on our Toyota transmission. No plans.

So back to square 1.
A750?
TCU and bellhousing issues again?
