For those of you running the 4x4 labs high steer kit, how much room do you have between the tie rod and the top of the sping pack (on SOA) when the truck is sitting level with vehicle weight on the springs and wheels pointing straight?
I am having clearance issues and need to know what the minimum amount of clearance is necessary without hindering function of the suspension or steering

By the way I have talked to Luke, he is very helpful I just forgot to ask him the above question. As it is I am going to have to remove the bottom leaf of the spring pack and potentially get different arms. Does anybody have any different suggestions other than getting different arms for getting the tie rod to sit slightly higher over the springs?

Thanks

Drake

I have somewhere around an inch between. Did you do a Cut & Turn? I found it was needed to run my 4x4labs HS, but it would vary some for as to where (angle) you mounted your perches? And mine do rub a little, but if you have seen pics of my 55... it FLEXES!

Thanks for the reply,

I used the proffitt's kit which they perform a cut and turn on the axle.

I am having the same problem. very little clearance after a cut and turn. I talked to luke and he can re-bend the arms to clear.

I am running the 4X4 labs arms with a cut and turn SOA setup and only have about an inch or so clearance, but I have had zero problems.

Using Proffitts C/T axle with Lukes arms and had to use his arms with the maximum bend in them. If you bought his standard arms, send them back and he will get you the correct ones. I have about an inch clearance now.

Count your leafs and make sure you don't have aftermarket springs or an add-a-leaf in there. That will change the thickness of the pack and limit your clearance. With a SOA you need the standard stock leafs, nothing else.

I've just ran out to the garage and mesured, it's about 1 1/4 ". I'm running stock springs with cut-and-turned axle and 4labs steering arms too. I did Rubicon with no rubbing and worked great.

Did you use standard springs or lifted ones? If you have lifted springs, he as a differnt set of arms.
Howdy! I am running the SOR Heavy Duty spring pacs, which are lifted, some. 4X4 Labs asked me specifically about this before they shipped my goodies last March. I have about 2.5 to 3" of clearance. Never gunna flex enough to hit them. John

Same here. I was running 2.5 lift 60 springs and the arms worked great.

It also matters if you have a shackle reversal. My drag link was just a little too close to the spring. I had to take the the arms off and have them bent up about 1/2 inch for adequate spring clearance. Once you get it dialed in, the steering is clever and extremely nice.
