Trying to source the standard bolt that secures the tailgate chains. This is for a HJ47 with a tub but others may be the same. Any leads on this?
It is a bolt with an oversize shank and a 1/2 thickness head.

Not sure the troopy style ever had a tailgate from the factory. If you have a ute the post above is mostly not what you need. Those tailgates were larger with a heavier bolt than used on the van style tailgate. Ute style bolt is part number 66289-95110. The van style bolt is 71382-60010. Amayama Trading shows the van style still available. Ute is NLA. Price for the van from them if really available is much cheaper and closer to Australia from the post with a link above.

This is what we had found out as well. Looks like it might be fabricating some to suit. There are some similar seatbelt mounting bolts but the challenge is finding something to suit in metric sizing. Thanks for your help.

I know the number of traybacks in Australia was far greater than number of utes. Toyota stopped importing 45s to the US in 1967. Canada only imported 45s mid seventies to 1980. Most Canadian truck have major rust issues if still around. Middle East and South/Central America were markets that received a lot of 45s with a bed. Unfortunately finding used parts from those area is difficult at best. Middle East seems to have a number of New Old Stock parts if you know how to find them, which I don't. Short term could source a long enough bolt. Collar to slip over it then a large fender washer to keep the chain in place. Could also get lucky and find someone on Mud who has some used ones.
