Yes, snow sticks to snow.

The Yokohama looks to be available in 315/75R16 for other markets.

The 315/70R17 is 20 - 25mm wider than the Nokian of the same size.

One thing many people don't know, you don't necessarily want a show tire to clear snow from its treads. The sipes are to hold the snow and get compacted with it. The snow to snow "connection" aides in providing traction in addition to the biting edge. Another reason faster is not better in snow. Not sure which manufacturer presented the information, I want to say it was Micheline.
Very true, like rolling a snowball, snow sticks to itself and is it suck’s to your tire, it sticks to the ground

I second this, lots more options for 17" wheels and keep your 16" wheels mounted with 35" Mud Terrains for summer wheeling.

As far as options for 16" wheels go though, I run a very silly looking set of 235/85R16 Toyo Open Country WLT1 snow tires and they perform awesome. I'm in the narrow tires for snow driving camp and I wouldn't want to run a 12.5" wide tire in the winter. I have a set of 16"x7" steel wheels that I leave the snow tires mounted on.

I’ve been looking at those close lately for my 250-series when it arrives.
