Got the other side apart. Both spindles are worn. Drivers birf was severely catching. Last person on there used a flat head to tighten on axle nuts. So they were a pain to get off.

So I need to additionally order 4 axle nuts, 2 spindles, 2 dust covers, 2 splined hub covers.

Maybe I’ll drive it by next year at this rate.

Anyone have any tips on installing the front panhard bar. I got an adjustable one for after the lift is installed. Just not too familiar with what measurement to take to adjust its length to.

Got the parts ordered up from Cruiser Outfitters. Ive been very pleased with their customer support. I just send them an email with my VIN, and what Im looking for, they email back with links to click to add to the cart. Very helpful with all the different models and variants in model years.

Looking to get some opinions on the best way to tackle the front end, its getting a complete rebuild. springs, shocks, radius arms, brake lines, calipers, knuckles, all the tie rod ends. Im thinking of working my way out.

1. take off old shocks and springs, to get the most flex
2. remove lower radius arms, install new ones
3. new springs, shocks
4.tie rod ends
5. knuckles
6. brakes

I think that should give me the best method without working back over stuff.

Step 6 is always to drink more beer. Long established Forum rules. :flipoff2:
DONT LISTEN TO HIM!!!! I've been stuck on step 6 for 24 years!

Well I’ve been working a lot on step 6. I’ve got the front end completely broken down. Shocks, springs, knuckles, brake lines. Radius arms all off.

The front sway bar bushing were shot, along with the ball joints that mount to the frame. So I’ll need those, also found the drag link bent. Has a slight curve, don’t think that’s normal. Need to bend it back, which I doubt I get correct or see if I can just buy the rod. I already got all new tie rod ends.

How critical is this surface on the back of the front hubs. It seems that the dust shield is what rides on it. Not sure it warrants new hubs? Definitely a bit of a groove has been worn in. If so, have any hub replacement options. All I saw were crazy expensive.

Thanks man. It honestly has been a grind lately. The amount of grime and dirt off the suspension was a b****. Then the ole saying while I’ve got it apart this far. So the suspension was a can of worms. Brake lines were all cracked. So anyone doing any restoration on one soon, should expect to replace this all. Now if it’s a running vehicle you could do it a bit at a time. Doing it like this is a big project. Easy mechanically, just tedious.
