Selling my 1986 FJ62 built by FJ Company I purchased the truck a little over a year ago as a runaround for my son and me, but he has recently left for college, and the truck gets little use. The car is perfect and looks brand new I've owned 40 series, 60 series, 100 series, and 200 series over the years, but this is my favorite cruiser I have ever had it's a shame that it will be sold, but I have no time to use it and hope the next owner will drive it as intended. The truck had a build cost of over 200k when new, and to get another similar truck from FJCompany would take two years. I am asking 175k it is truly a work of art. The link features all of the build photos from when the truck was new, and it is in the same condition today with virtually no signs of wear.

WOW!

I saw this one not sell on BAT for 110K. I was wondering what the reserve might have been.

Good idea posting here, but I think you may have had the right audience the first time.

We all like to drive our works of art.

Don’t get me wrong, that is a beautiful specimen, but definitely about 175K out of my price range.

Good luck!

$150k overpriced

Is it wrong that I like what it originally was prior to the Restoration? Cool vehicle and I understand all the work that went into it. But I would throw up even getting a scratch.

For those knocking the "overpriced" and so on. Build one. Even in your own garage. While it won't be 200k, the cost to build one at this quality will surprise you, if not shock you. Ask me how I know.

Second, someone was willing to pay 110k, which is likely in-line with today's softer market. BaT is about as premium of a sellers market as you can get - exposure and wide variety of bidders. So, while 175k isn't what the market is willing to pay, its a truck that is worth at least 110k right now.

The cost of building one, even if you had the means to do so, isn't less than 100k. I can assure you that - not including labor!

Beautiful cruiser, good luck - but I suspect the market will have to turn a bit more bullish to support your asking price. Most collector/classic/vintage lost about 10% in the last two weeks outside of very low production number cars/trucks.

This is a very premium Cruiser. I studied it on the FJ Company site for hours when I was restoring Chunk. The market for a price point like that of course is very small, but it is very real. Someone out there has plenty of money and they want the best. I don't believe they will be disappointed with this one. If they have earned the ability to buy at this price point, more power to them. It may take some time and work to get it in front of the right buyer but I believe it can happen.

Good luck!

Horn button decals rattle canned over .. aftermarket stereo, no chrome windshield lock strip..

Just being a hater .. it’s pretty cool

On a 150k restoration the devil is in the detail

No sorry that chrome windshield insert is a pain in the ass and looks like s***. All the glass seals should have been
all black rubber!!
FJ company restores are legit. I worked 10 years at place like the FJ C. Full restores on anything was 200k
and above. Custom car from scratch, like frame made on the frame table and the we build everything. 750k!!!
