I've also been planning a rear bumper similar to this and quite interested to see how yours turns out.

I think you would have the market cornered if you could produce and sell them cheap enough........ Not that you don't have enough on the go, lol

Cheap and Crushers?
i understand what you are saying
but
in the end it is a 2 piece bumper,
a main beam that the winch, clevises and trailer hitch attach to and to the frame,
then a skin that supports the spindles, back up light mounts and fairlead.
sand blasted and powder coated with 38 series high durable powder.

i highly doubt the general public will want to pay what it will be worth ... to me.

the front bumper with the blower removed.
it is very similar to the one on my red ragtop but it has the "fangs" that hang down when the blower and quick attach is removed.
to cure the look of the fangs, Mitch came up with the idea of lights to be installed.
acceptable.

when the blower winch is removed in the spring along with the plow lights then there is LOTS of options for the owner to install lighting ... pretty much anywhere he wants.

no, i don't recommend all these lights, this is just to show the different locations ...

routering the aluminum panels
the sharp edge from the water jetters and the router edge to show an example of how this extra step really makes the panels look ... nicer.

we added a 2" reciever to the front bumper, this makes moving trailers around a lot easier.

SS bolts are being used to hold the hood stiffener on, since the material is 1/4" aluminum i tried drilling a slightly smaller hold and crushing the bolt into the material.
this is the resulting divots, they hold well and they will not turn.
in steel you would need to get the square holes cut in.

a little visitor while i was working

clamping the template on for testing the strength of the 1/4" aluminum

as you can see the factory hood doesn't crush but it definately does deform under Mitch's weight and he isn't even lifting anything to put on the roof rack.

as you can see, there is very little deforming now.
once the hood scoop is installed there will be NO deforming at all.

use the stiffener as a template
drill the holes
flip and drill with a hole saw where needed
install the stiffener...

the supports for the rack are routered and installed
light tabs needed and Jackall mount then it is ready to be cleaned up and PC.

Coming in late here but WOW!

I originally thought the blower was going to be PTO...I was scratching my chin as to how that would work....

if you wire up those lights as shown on post 90 you could melt the snow instead of blowing it!!!

Cool project and just slightly off the beaten path.....

door panels

I'm looking at doing a similar stereo install in my 70. Have you had any trouble with the aluminum panels vibrating or buzzing on other installs? Or reacting with the steel from the body?

Thanks.

no issues at all, i have been doing these panels on 40s and 70s for decades with no ill side effect. it is important to fit them properly and attach then securely.
if i am not using the bubble wrap then i use double sided glazing tape around the outside and a single strip up the middle reinforcing web.
cheers

getting ready to install the self leveling air bag system from Airbaggit.
first up, delay in shipping by 6 weeks.
then, wrong upper brackets sent with initial order.
finally it seems the whole kit is here ... missing all instructions for kit but instructions for wiring plugs for the controler arrived.
we upgraded from the small air line to the larger for quicker reaction time.
we elected not to buy the compessor package since we have a York being installed which is much faster than the original AND we have to be able to run air tools from the compressor / tank.

I just hope "Airbaggit" is not the same company that supplies the air suspension systems for Land Rover. If they are you might find your "listing to starboard" at the worst possible time.:D
