the previous body work is a bit less than desirable ... the gap at the sheet metal will need to be pulled into decent shape before the panel can be attached.

another shot of the useless factory console ... seriously, they are great for storing change but if you have the rear heater system that is all they are good for.
too low for an armrest.
too small to be of any real use.

i located these sheets of stickers for switches, pretty darn cool.

the vehicle is loaded with lights and factory e/lockers so there will be a need for switches, lots of switches.
also because of the load on the electrical system a battery charge gauge would be nice.
since a turbo is being added the usual Pyro, boost, oil gauge will be installed and finally, due to the work application a after market coolant gauge makes sense.
so
pyro - boost - battery1 e/locker F e/locker R
oil - coolant - battery2 driving lights back up lights

the panel will be PC black.

rear skin completed
rear main beam completed, the clevis attachment points, hitch reciever, winch mount, arm extensions with reinforced attachments inside the frame.

next up is the swing out tire carrier and ladder to the roof rack.

Is it a bad reflection on my character that I quickly scroll to the end of your updates to see the last pics before going back and reading the tech?

nope, that ain't me.
but
i would have the same goofy grin on my face!!

i have a feeling that Awl-Teq isn't the first or will be the last to check ... natures finest ... out before going to see the tech posts ...

What sub did you choose for the rear door? I'm looking for a shallow mount with low volume requirements.

Any idea what the volume of the door is? Do you think it'll act like a sealed box, more or less?

Thanks.

Is that you on the bike with the big grin?

Marginally similar story from Sunday;
I was riding my bike on a trail (former rail road line) and I noticed that the guy in front of me was very engaged watching a young lady peddling towards us. As she pass him, he continued to watch her and started to drift into a more pronounced left turn. Once he realized this, he turned hard right and over corrected. After a couple seconds of hard right and left turns; he lost control and fell to the left. To break his fall, he stuck out his left hand and tore the hide off his index finger. The exposed bone was bad reminder that girl watching should not be done seriously while peddling a bike.

The image of the guy with the smile is a better ending to the story.
