Updates! I installed the 3FE alternator along with @Coolerman 's adapter harness and everything is working great! My old belt is a little stretched but I'll change that once I though @orangefj45 's Saginaw pump conversion on.

Slight modification to the 3FE's cooling fan shown here:

Clearance is tight and I don't have much (if any) adjustment left but we're running and no belt slip!

Here's a photo of my beautiful power steering leak. Soon to be fixed permanently! Right now I just keep adding more fluid to fix it. haha

Also, Gertic is here to stay, Emilee is in love, Lola (my 12 year old lab mix) has come around, too!

More to come!

Took the wife, dogs and truck to Red River Gorge this weekend for some camping! Was great to get out on some gravel roads and just cruise, we had a great time. Ready to go back and camp in the Cruiser rather than a tent, supposedly there are some great Dispersed camping sites off of the Daniel Boone Back Country Byway I need to find!

Here are a few photos! Oh and I averaged 14.29 MPGs!

Mountains and hills out in the distance!

Got to our campsite and met some other Toyota buddies, notice the silver one is the one I used to own!

We found a place that sold beer!

A great photo of Emilee and Gertie hanging out the windows! I'm lucky she likes the Land Cruiser so much!

And... went through it twice.

I was in Corbin this weekend, can't say I saw many cruisers down that way...

Just a standard Yakima. 60 inch load bars. That's about all I know. Got it from a local guy selling his 62.

I bet someone will chime in.
I've had the (basically) same Yakima rack on my '84 FJ60 for more than 20 years, used it only for our four mountain bikes. Works great, at least for that application.

@Ian Crawford

Great Thread Ian. I also have a 1984 fj60 Rootbeer brown. Have done alot of the same things as you, still a laundry list to go.. I did the saginaw pump conversion a few months back. I have some pictures and write up if you want to check it out. Havent had a leak since although my pump seems to make some noise or my steering box as you get the vibrations and whine up the steering column as you turn left and right full lock.

Yet another example of the MUD community being awesome!

About a week ago I got a PM from a fellow member who read this thread and had the same problem as me, he had a grey interior with a tan fuse cover. We discussed it, each paid shipping cost and BOOM!

@Longfinger FTW! Now he just needs to get moving on his project and get it back on the road!

Well then any updates?

No real updates, I've just been driving the truck and enjoying it!

@saucebox hooked me up with a good deal on one of my missing parts called out early in this thread, tada!

And Alex, my friend I sold the silver truck to bought a second cruiser from a guy in Iowa, not sure he was a member here... But here are all three sitting at his office.

You got him hooked. Why is your truck there and not in your driveway getting more work done to it? You've set the bar high for yourself you know...

Following in your footsteps. Or stalking your progress. Glad the truck is running well.

Slow forward progress, but forward progress none-the-less!

Last night I decided to go ahead and throw the power steering pump pulley and adapter from @orangefj45 and Valley Hybrids on the Saginaw pump all went well! Just used a little motor oil and the pulley pressed right on.

Protip, they say experience is something gained just after you needed it... Install the adapter bracket before installing the pulley.

Just now ran across your thread. Looks like your cruiser is coming along nicely. Been driving the grey one you got the racks off of and trying to work out some bugs. We should get together soon and talk cruisers.
