I have quickly come to realize that EVERYONE passes me in Buster Brown. It takes a completely different mentality to drive these 60's vs. a faster tractor like the 80.

Made it out to the local coffee shop Saturday morning to meet some fellow Cruisers!

Light blue is a 1974, the dark blue is a 1980.

I finally got my truck buttoned up with the factory air cleaner and all desmogged!

How did your desmog go?? I ordered a kit from Jim. My truck is your twin...the engine and carb had been recently rebuilt when I bought her. I have my mechanic doing the desmog now. Did you recurve your dizzy yourself or skip that?? How noticeable was the difference after the desmog. Also, I am looking at exhaust...weighing options on what to keep and just get rid of...do you still have your cat converter? Looking forward to getting mine back and seeing a much cleaner engine bay.

Hey John,

Great looking truck, I wish mine was that clean!

I de-smogged my truck prior to getting it running so I do not have a comparison. As for the recurve, I skipped that part, I'd like to do it but the truck runs great as is.

I still have my catalytic converter but it is in my garage in a box with the other smog parts.

I can vouch that it cleans up the engine bay significantly!

Not too many updates but we're getting ready to roll over 90K!

I finally found a drivers side rear mudflap (it's form a 62), I followed @CaptClose 's lead with Simple Green and steel wool. Finished product turned out pretty good!

I’ve got three flaps I think in my garage. I had a set of four that I sold quite cheap to a guy doing a restore awhile back.
The three I have left are in bad shape tho. The metal lip would require some good fab skills to make work again.
But I do like the idea of using them. LC ones go on rear?

@Ian Crawford Agreed. I still have my grill off from way back. My ugly tube bumper blocks the emblem so I want to chop of the top curve. Yet to try it out plus I’ll need to get caps for it.
Hey Ian... how’s the emblem on that one your parting? Mine broke and I jb’d it but not sure if it’ll hold. Is that one avail? I’d PayPal more for you to add it to the package.

Awesome work!

Copper brown metallic owner here too. (hiding under PO's Macco job). Thinking of going back to OEM color someday

Did you notice improvement when you upgraded to the 3fe alternator? I’ve pinged coolerman for the connector so I’m hoping to do this soon! Nice work and great pictures.

@Coolerman will hook you up with a great little product! I don' know about an improvement but it' certainly does everything the 2F alternator did and it cheaper as well as more easily available.

I need to tell you which belt to get. I went a bit shorter recently and it helped give me a bit more adjustment.

Looking very nice Ian Crawford! Good job on getting her back on the road.
I found mine in worst shape. And it is the same color.

Use some 1000 grit wet/dry sandpaper and wet sand the paint. And then go over it with some rubbing compound and then wax it. She will shine! That paint is still good!

Her is the triplet!

I suppose that is the best update, because nothing has broken :steer:

From what I am reading elsewhere, @Ian Crawford was trying to get yet another mistress (40 series) but the buy in was too steep for the particular vehicle. Glad the 60 is running well.

Haha yeah, we never came to an agreement on the 40... Probably for the better. New and first baby will be here in August!

I did fix the AC in my Cruiser, very nice to have. Added Bluetooth to the factory head unit, also nice to have.

On the list is H55 install, alignment and new tires. No particular order.
