My beast, 1970 fj55, has had no other previous starting issues. Pulled up to work, forgot to roll up rear window reached in went to turn the key just to roll up the window and accidentally turned the key too far. Pig made sound like it was gonna start, but clutch wasn't in so it obviously didn't. After that the window wouldn't roll up from the dash control. It will come down but not roll up. Also, the engine won't even turn over. Ugggghhh. I can't see any loose wires from ignition to starter. Battery is charged. Is there any kind of fuse for the ignition or a relay that could have tripped? Opinions?

Does the Pig have a fuseable link? I would check to see if it is burnt up...:meh:

Check your ground wires...posts and cable connectors clean and tight?

Turn the key to the ON position and run a wire from the starter to the positive battery terminal to force the starter to start. Only hold the wire on the + terminal for a second. If this causes the engine to turn over then it is definitely a wiring issue.

Please make sure the car is OUT of gear before you do this.

Jumped the starter nothing happened. Replaced starter. Bingo. Thanks.
