the two rods clamp to the rear of the inside of the cab, jack and handle got in the toolbox. I should have pics tonight or when I get these all restored and installed. And thanks - we both have leet threads rollin!

Hello again my friends. I have been busy this week thus far and hope to be tying up the project this weekend with the last of the gadgets.

These last two months have been a real struggle. I have had to put in major hours on this thing to get it where it is. I have tried to do EVERYTHING myself. Not to brag or boast or anything, but just to look at it in the end and feel some self-accomplishment. It's my anti-depressant.

The paint process was very difficult. I have painted several cars in the past, but this one for some reason was very hard. From the base coat not covering well, to major temperature fluctuations, to running out of materials, you name it. It was tough.

As you know, I painted every piece individually the best I could. Upon bringing the doors home the first time, the kids were riding bikes in the garage, hit the trash can and pushed it over into my doors and knocked them both over. I had to repaint both doors.

Destin - the bottle jack and handle crank clamp into the underseat tool box. The other two rods clamp to the back of the cab.

best part of the driver seat in that version is they unhook, pull the 2 pins in the back and make a great camp chair.

Flea-bay had it 50 bucks. There were a few on there for 199.99 each, then he changed all of them to 50 bucks. I took the best one of the 3.

UPS also just stopped by with the door kits. Finally. This will enable me to drive it. I haven't been able to drive it out o the shop to put the bed on it yet because cool cruisers had my door kits back ordered.

I think those caps were originally going for $399 or $499 each...I thought the guy was wacked out of his mind!

I sent him an email and told him they were worth about 50 a piece. A day later after no bids (obviously) he changed them all to 50. I just happened to look when he changed them and snagged the best of the bunch. It has some knicks and aging - but is a nice cap.
Now I just need to find about an equally as nice front "open" cap. I have 1 decent and 1 horrible.

Well, I am still waiting on the CCOT window felts. It's cold today so my motivation level is low. I did have a great weekend, did you guys????

I followed up on a craigslist ad and in my opinion nearly stole this cruiser....so it was hard to pass up the deal. This was one of those situations where you toss out a number and expect a counter offer or a laugh in your face, but as you can see, someone (my kids named her "Pixie") showed up on my driveway Saturday evening. Welcome to the family "Pixie".

Once I get the felts from CCOT, I can assemble the doors and be complete with the 45 .

Something I did notice - maybe you guys can help me. The chain that hooks into the HI-LO dash shifter..... according to SOR the chain is secured by the "pin" that hold the lever in place and then the other end has a cotter-style pin that plugs into the hole on the bracket. Well, that doesn't work on mine becuase by putting the chain around the pin - it is then not long enough to get a cotter pin into. Maybe pics will help?

Great weekend! Some downtime after a busy week. I thought it would be fun to adjust rear drums on my '78 40. Maybe fun is an overstatement. I think it is hard to adjust drums when you have an autolocker in the rear...

Congratulations on Pixe! We need specs! 2F? Mileage? How many PO's? What are your plans for her? Any mods?

I would welcome pics on your Hi-Lo shifter, simply so I can learn about a system that I have never worked on...

Wes, thanks, the picture below answered the question. I figured i'd get some "huh?" outta that quesiton, lol.

basically the solution is this. The OTHER end of the chain is used to hold the pin in, NOT an additional cotter pin.
