Installed 10% underdrive tcase gears thanks to Georg Esterer for the parts and Highcountrycruisers for the excellent workmanship on the install.

This coupled with 25% low range and 4.88 on 40s really makes a great package. Check it out

Way better than the JL Kevin!

I've got a new chart with 4.10/4.56/4.88/5.29 axle gears and 31/33/35/37 tires too. I ❤️ gearing. :D

Please post the chart. Thanks! Interested in the 4.10s/35s/low range transfer case gears/underdrive high range.

Please post the chart.

He did post it, in his "Yes We Stock That" thread linked earlier. ;)

I also did both high and low range gears from @cruiseroutfit through @ACC Toyota . I LOVE THE RESULTS! I have stock gears in the pumpkins and run 315s. The truck is a joy to drive now. I had forgotten what it was like to accelerate up hills in high range. Low range is SIGNIFICANTLY lower than it was before.

Oh, and on another note, I was very surprised at the MPG difference. I didn't expect any improvement. Look at my last four fill ups and see if you can see where the gear change happened (you can ignore the EF, that is just my marker that I filled up with Ethanol Free gas). THAT IS A 15% MPG IMPROVEMENT!!!

Oh, and YES, these numbers are adjusted for speedo differences as my totals miles are taken from the GPS, not the odometer.

Wow bro, your mileage sucks even worse then mine !

Haha...but it now sucks 15% less!!! To be fair, that is mostly city driving and a pretty worn out head. At 250k miles on stock everything in motor, I am planning a top end overhaul in 2019. Plus, I guess I am pretty heavy with front/rear bumpers, sliders, skid plates, dual batteries warn 12k winch, etc.

Mine's in the same boat. But hey, why stop with the top end, you may as well throw some money in the block as well.

I tend to agree with you when I pulled my head at about 225,000 my cyliners still had home marks in them. Somewhere in one of my threads there is pictures of it.

I did marlin crawler low low in my TC and its made a nice difference, not earth shattering. But when she going downhill in low low the MC has slowed her done nicely. and climbing is much better. And I tested it pretty hard in ozarks. for whats thats worth. and I have 4:88s

So then clearly the vice versa of this would be true as well? My truck will soon have 5.29s, if I left the high range stock and put in this new lower low range gear how would it affect my highway RPMs?

Low range reduction gears reduce only the low range.

High range underdrive and overdrive gears change the high range and the low range.

This chart may be helpful as well. If plots our popular Tcase high range and low range options with effective low range ratio with different tires and axle ratios. Great for comparing bench racing options.

Looks like my 80 will be getting an early 2020 gift from you in that case. Thanks Kurt, Merry Christmas!

Sweet, we would love to help!

You will not regret it!

So I am getting ready to order a set of high reduction gears but am curious from those that have them about gear whine noise. Anyone experience excessive gear whine from doing these? I can handle some noise but dont really want to hear them singing loud on the highway.
