Actually I think it’s still in there I can twist it opened and closed from the other side it’s spring loaded but not attached to anything and I can hear the metal flapper opening and closing inside so I guess it just stays shut. isn’t that bad though?Looks like a PO removed the exhaust diverter and tried to plug it with a bolt. You could pull the bolt and JB weld it in.
The "spring" you speak of is not just a spring. It's a bimetallic thermal coil.
