I am looking for the upper yoke that mounts to the steering intermediate shaft. It mounts to the shaft via splines and attaches to the spider (universal) at the fire wall. I'll take the whole shaft with both universal set ups. The lower portion of the shaft attaches to the steering box via splines. Posted in classified, hoping for better luck here.

Thanks
Stan

Mine is split in half, over stressed it taking it apart, cast metal

I thought you found one in classifieds?
is that the large or small?

That is the larger type. The guy in the classified had the wrong type.

And I broke the one I was going to send to you . Lesson learned, leave the bolt in when removing the u-joint.

Amen brother!

I just posted in the classified ad, as this is tech.

so here's a tech question, does the steering box yoke have the same splines as the end you need????

The OEM 60 series steering box may indeed have the same size spline, I'd have to check. However, the steering box being used is an 80 series box. The build is a 60 series body on 80 roller.

I did a quick check this afternoon and the yoke is the same on both ends of the 60. The splines fit in both yokes.

I think I have one. I will check tomorrow and send u a pic. I mean today, since it is 1 am.
Cheers

Do you want to sell the one you showed in the photo? I only
need the upper yoke.

This part is for a 1987 60 series. The upper yoke is wider at the spider (U joint) than the lower is at the spider. I just checked it against my 89 FJ62 and they are the same shaft and yokes. I have a couple 80 series shafts and they have the smaller yokes on both ends, perhaps the earlier 60s are like this as well.

I do not believe any of the lower yokes will fit on the top as the are too narrow at the spider.

This is the 87 shaft from my project. I am holding the broken yoke, it measures 41mm inside, yoke arm to yoke arm. The lower yoke that attache to the box is 31mm.
