Here's the deal. I have a 89 FJ62 with a FJ60 front end conversion, white with grey interior. Less than 5K on rebuilt engine and transmission. Zero rust, came from the high desert of Utah with a knock, thus the engine rebuild and decided to do the tranny and torque converter while it was out. While the engine and tranny where out, I had the frame axles and bottom of the body soda blasted and painted black. Put the truck back togeather with rebuilt axles, assie locker in the front, new gas tank OME lift, new Eagle rims with BFG 33x12.5x15's, SS brake lines, and new brakes. I'm looking for a very good fj60 (primarily) or an fj62. Either would have to be in very good condition with no or little rust. I prefer stock, but some mild conversions aren't a big deal. Exterior paint isn't a big deal. Mechanically, it would have to be solid. I need something that's nice and is or could easily be a daily driver. I don't want a museum piece and I don't want a piece of junk.
I need to drive what I buy, so the west coast is out. Something in the mid-atlantic area would be ideal.
I'd like to stay under 8K.

This is a nice FJ 60 with a smack in the back right above the tailpipe. It will have a salvage title, which is pretty common seeing as body work adds up quick. I am the second owner. Was repainted original color in jan of 2007. It has 147k millia, new a/c compressor, newer tires, runs excellent, very nice stereo, just drove it to iwoa and back, drives nicer than my80 series did, feels like a new truck. Ok I have been working on this thing off and on for about 6 months and I just don't have time for it anymore. I am getting my masters and working full time so I'm a pretty busy guy.
It is a 1984 FJ60 and shows 284k miles on the odometer. It is very mechanically sound and could make a daily driver. The PO had the engine professionally rebuilt to include machining the block. This is the stuff that is new or rebuilt on the truck (mechanically).

fj60 desmoged some rust. good drive train not clanks or clunks. has new radiator, cap, rotor. previous owner said that it had new clutch. dashpad has no cracks new slyvannia headlights. big stout custom brush guard. She has 195xxx miles on her lots of reciepts from previous owners. good TOYO tires 30". does not have power steering pump last owner removed it, I have no idea why. runs good heater works has block heater but chord was cut. 4x4 works great no apparent leaks from tranny or t-case.

Looking for an FJ60/62- Stock to midly built. OME Suspension would be a huge plus. Needs to have Toyota drivetrain. Not interested in any sprung over trucks with v8 swaps etc. No rust/major dents etc. Looking for something in solid mechanical shape, a few minor issues ok. No Rust!
High mileage ok as long as mechanicals are good.

Guys, as many of you have seen, I am trying to sell my 97 LX450. I want to replace it with a solid, mildly lifted FJ62. If not, a 98-02 4x4 Tow rig with either a 5.9L Cummins or a 7.3L Powerstroke. I am looking to only spend $6000 - unless you are looking to take the LX450 in as a trade.

Sad day for me but I have come to the conclusion financially that I can no longer afford 2 land cruisers so I need to sell my trusty fj62. it is without a doubt expedition and rock crawling ready. 1988 bone stock land cruiser with 143,000 miles. I've had for 4 years and put about 35,000 mile on. Super clean interior and decent exterior. No rust anywhere except for directly behind one mudflap. Some dings and scratches and clear coat failing on part of the lift gate. This is my daily driver, but my mechanic says needs rod bearing and I am ready to move on to my next Toyota. It has been making some noise and start up for a while, but I still don't hesitate driving it. He quoted me $1100 to do.
