Just wrote a novel responding to a Wanted ad and realized I accomplished the task of writing my For Sale ad in the process. Cutting and pasting from that one... Not quite done yet, but am going to be putting this one up. Bought without an engine from a guy in Iowa who had done a full resto of this TX truck about 12 yrs ago. Unfortunately didn't seat the distributor correctly and the oil pump didn't go round 'n round, causing the engine to meet an early death. I pulled a 2F from a friend's well-running '85 FJ60 with 138K miles. The truck and tranny have a little over 120K. The prior owner put in the SOR carpet kit and went the extra distance to do sound deadening and an insulated headliner. The interior is really nice. I had to...
1989 Toyota FJ62 in Tucson, Arizona, USA.
317K miles on original engine. Runs well, does not burn oil, no leaks. Recently passed emissions test. Expertly repaired small rust spot near wheel well with new paint (welded with minimal bondo). Clean body and frame, minimal surface rust, nothing significant. Colorado and Arizona vehicle. Used as daily driver and has as made several recent camping trips as well as two Mexico trips and ran like a champ. No serious off-roading although it has an Old Man Emu suspension recently added. Known issues: speedometer/odometer just stopped working 2 weeks ago. $6,900. E-mail me at dtwelker@eyes.arizona.edu
Hey all, Hoping you might all be able to help me in my search for a nice 60 series diesel Land Cruiser. Looking for something that has been well cared for and is not a bucket of rust. I've been combing over eBay and craigslist as well as the classifieds on mud searching, but I figure it wouldn't hurt to have more eyes out. Some general specs: Left-hand-drive (a must) - 4 or 6 cyl diesel - heating (a/c if possible) - Manual transmission preferred - Power steering is nice? - towing ready would be great! - I like the split rear doors, but I know those are quite rare so not expected. Location does not matter if the condition is right - I'd be more than happy to travel to get it, but western America is where I am. I'm not looking for...
(WA)1983 FJ60
Sad to do this but I need to get a new tow rig so one of my project needs to go. This is my 1983 FJ60 with 197000, I bought it in early March to restore but life has happened and I need to sell it to finance a new tow rig. I replaced the drivers door and also have a really nice front passenger door that will go with the truck. I fixed a few minor things but the fact remains that it needs a new engine, it runs and can be driven up onto a trailer or around your property but it is not road worthy. The body and frame have very little rust. It is a project but it has a nice body. Price is $1000 (200 less than what I have into it)
Hey all, I currently have a 81 fj60 that I am getting ready to sell and looking for a built FJ60 in Red, blue, or dark grey. I would like a v8 swapped and hopefully a 4 or 5 speed still. However I am open to autos as most people change them out too. I would love a SOA with 35" tires, and so on. Truck must be rust free however, dents dont bother me much. I am located in Seattle WA, but willing to fly out and pick one up for the right rig. Thanks guys. Tom
Please see attached link to craig's list ad locally for a list of all recent work. I'm in Santa Barbara, CA. http://santabarbara.craigslist.org/cto/5084477132.html The truck is in excellent mechanical condition with no known problems at this time. Body is rust free. Frame has some rust on the rear C frame member. The rust is there but structurally it is sound. I've treated that spot to further prevent spread. Truck was sprayed in its previous life with some product that left a thick coat of black, rubber like coating, which kept 95% of frame in great shape. The remaining 5% is the rear however, it is really not major. Text me if you'd like some more pictures or have an offer. Read my ad, I've put a lot of work into this...
1989 Toyota Land Cruiser FJ62 Lincoln Ca.
-SOLD- A lot of time and money has been spent on this cruiser. Lots of great adventures too, but I need to get a more practical vehicle. The transmission is starting to have problems, and I'm not in a position to fix it. There are tons of modifications done to this cruiser all of which add up to be worth three times what I'm asking and doesn't include the original price of the truck. The modifications include- - ARB front and rear air locking differentials and air system. - Differentials have been re-geared to 4:88, giving it the proper ratio for the 37'' tires - 37'' BFG Km2s wrapped around Pacer Aluminums in a matte finish with matching (unused) spare - Spring over axle conversion giving the vehicle approximately 7'' of lift. (all...
1984 FJ60 fully rebuilt drivetrain
I have an 84 Fj60 i was putting together for my wife to drive in the winter until we came accross an FJ45. The truck is very rust free in the wheel wells and lowers but has some rust on the inside fronts of the drivers and passenger door. The motor/tran/transfer have about 500 miles on a full rebuild. The truck is currently desmogged and the ac is removed. I have all the parts and they will be included with the sale. This is in original paint and one of the nicest 60's I have ever owned. The springs are currently being swapped out for 62 springs with CCOT shackles to get rid of the saggy bottom. The motor has a shaved head and RV cam and really pulls strong for a 2F. The motor is from a 76 FJ40 running late 2F and 3FE accessorys. The...
This is a 1986 Land Cruiser built for moderate rock crawling and expedition travel and has been all over western North America. It comes with a GM 350 TBI motor (zero time motor from the GM dealership) about 62,000 miles ago. Transmission is a zero time Toyota H55F 5 speed sourced out of Australia (the US TLC got only a four speed for reasons no one seems to know) The H55F has the first 3 gears lower than the four speed. The differential gears have been upgraded to 4:11 ratio to provide better drivability with larger tires (33/12.5/15) and new transmission. Transfer case was rebuilt at the time of transmission install. The combination of all the regearing and tire size has ironically resulted in a speedo that is (at least nearly) dead...
1988 FJ62 120k in Idaho
I've owned this since 2001 and in that time have put only 30k miles on it. Has a little rust in rear wheel area which I have slowed down with rust bullet, fiberglass, bondo and matched paint - not professional, but I'm not a metal guy and didn't want to put the $ in at the time. Mechanically good with a new aluminum radiator - everything else stock. Have listed it locally in Ketchum and am asking $9000. I think with a couple of thousand to get the small rust cut out and fixed professionally, it would be a sweet truck.

Hello Everyone, Just wanted to put the word out there that I'm trying to hunt down an FJ. I've been lurking on the forums for a while as well as the classifieds here, so I figured I'd put the feelers out on here The Criteria - I live in the Northeast, so it needs to be a Rust Free Rig, or pretty close to it. that's essentially the biggest issue/requirement I have. Mechanically I'd prefer to have a well maintained truck with the appropriate documentation to prove it. However, I do intend on doing the majority of the work myself as I have the appropriate Tools/Lift so it doesn't have to be a spotless beauty. The Budget - Ideally I'd like to find a rig for $10,000 USD. I'm primarily looking for quality, if a great truck shows up that...
