Long time listener, first time caller. I've always loved land cruisers, and am finally in a position to pursue the dream of having my own. I've been actively looking for a little while now, and am preferring a 60. I've looked at a couple 62's here in my area and I like them, but would strongly prefer a manual transmission. I'm looking for a daily driver, little to no rust, in the $7,000-$10,000 range. I'm not picky as far as color, mods, etc., as long as it runs and drives well. I live in Nashville, TN and am hoping I can find something in the state of Tennessee, if not elsewhere in the Southeast. Thanks for any and all help. Very excited at the prospect of owning my first cruiser!
Looking for an FJ60 in good shape under 10K. While I'm in Central Virginia I'm also willing to make a trip out nearly anywhere for the right truck. I've been on the lookout for months in my area, and while there are some for sale, many are rustbuckets. I have wanted an old Land Cruiser forever, and while I'm not exactly looking for a project Land Cruiser, I am looking for one to take care of forever. Anyways, I'd like to find one as close to stock as possible, with as little rust as possible, but that's pretty much it. Any suggestions/offerings are gladly accepted!
1987 FJ60 NON RUNNING PROJECT Truck in Flagstaff, AZ
Metallic Blue, Clear AZ title, non running (cooling system has been removed) This is a near rust free FJ60 I drove/towed back from Albuquerque NM four years ago. It was running with a hot start issue that left me stranded in Holbrook AZ when I had it towed to my house. Was planning on pulling the engine to rebuild but we are moving and I need to find a home for it...preferably not the parts yard. Body is in OK condition, some dents and ghetto dent repair but no rot, gutters are very clean, frame is as clean as I have ever seen on one. Pictures are from when I got it 4 years ago. Trim is all removed and interior is out of the truck but complete. I have a extra dash in better condition that the cracked one that is in it and an extra...
1988 FJ62 Wilmington, NC
Well, the time has come to sell Big Red. I've had big plans for this rig but time has not been on my side to work on her as much as I would like, so it's time to let her go to someone who can give her the attention she deserves. This truck will be a great platform for someone looking to build a trail/overland rig or could make a great beach buggy with little effort. Since I've owned her she's received: -Remaned Air Flow Meter -OEM Fuel Pulsation Damper -OEM Fuel Pressure Regulator -Coolant Temperature Switch -OEM Throttle Position Sensor -Newer transmission (approx 180k miles) and rebuilt heavy duty torque converter from Roadrunner Converters. -Oil changes every 3k miles with Delo and one quart Marvel Mystery Oil, (due for an oil...
YELLOW 1983 TOYOTA FJ60 1 TON
PRICE REDUCED! I purchased this rust-free truck from a member in Vegas a year ago with the intent on using it for coyote hunting here in New Jersey. Had the truck delivered, installed a Winters shifter for the 700R4, and I never went coyote hunting this past year...just too busy...the story of my life! The original build of this truck has been fully documented on this site at the following link: FJ60 1-ton Superduty build In short, it is a 1983 Toyota FJ60 that has been totally upgraded with 1 ton hardware and a 385 Chevy stroker with TBI, and a 700R4 auto trans. This truck runs great, and is a real eye-catcher. $8,000 or best offer 609-517-4296 I need to sell this thing
Well, it looks like it may be time to sell one of the cruisers. My wife and I love both our cruisers and feel they will be irreplaceable if we sold them, but selling it may be the way to go right now. This is a daily driver and has mostly been our main vehicle since we bought it 3 years ago. It's never let me down in that time and I have kept up on all maintenance, I change oil every 3k miles and I also do all my own maintenance (been wrenching since before I could drive). The only thing I didn't install was the lift, it was done by classic cruisers in Salida, and the rear quarter panels, I'm not proficient in body stuff and that was done by a shop shortly before I purchased. This rig isn't perfect, but i feel it's a good platform...
Hi, I'm 15 and finally ready to buy a land cruiser. I was continplating getting either a fzj80 or 4runner but I feel like a fj62 hj60 or Hj61 would suit me the best. I live in Colorado Springs and my dad I don't think is really willing to drive that far to see one but a couple hours is probably fine. I would like to get one for 5-8k (I'm buying this myself) and with minimal rust. Records are always nice and I don't mind a little project but it has to at least run and drive. I haven't really looked into the hj60 and hj61 and don't know a lot about them but the fj62 I have endlessly researched. Just let me know what you have and would love to talk about it. Thank you so much.
SOLD. I'll try to change the post title too, but not sure if I can find the right menu! Ha. Chasing a starter problem has pushed me over the edge. I think I can stumble my way through almost any repair - see the build thread (HA!), but chasing what seems to be an electrical gremlin (solenoid clicks but new starter doesn't turn) has become too much with everything else in life. I just don't have time or will anymore to deal with it. . Too much to list here: 5.3L V8 H55 five speed transmission ARB lockers front and rear dual battery setup long range tank ARB front bumper with Warn dual swingout rear blasted and powder-coated frame every bearing I can think of is brand new all new steering parts new brakes all around frame-off...
I have an 87 FJ60 with ~120 miles. It was recently "totaled"by insurance company after I was driving down the road and hit by another vehicle. The damage was estimated at 5500 and therefore insurance has deemed it a total loss. I have been negotiating with them for several weeks and have gone back and forth in my mind several times about what I should do - i.e. keep it and try to fix it (I assume that if collision shop would fix for $5500, it could probably be fixed for much cheaper), keep it and part it out, or let them take her (which just hurts). The damage is to the passenger side quarter panel, wheel and involves the steering linkage and the leaf springs on the passenger side. The oil pan was damaged as well. If you search...
I am selling my beloved 1988 FJ62. I apologize for the short description, but I am busy studying for final exams. I love the truck, but need something better for the long drives from Dallas to Lubbock. The car is currently in Dallas and I am still in Lubbock, but it is with my family and if anyone is interested they can contact the number provided on craigslist for more information. I will likely not have time to check this thread for a little while, but if you are interested please text or call the number found on craigslist or if you have specific questions about the vehicle you can contact me at 214 - 215-5903. I have it listed for 16,800 but will consider offers if I know its going to someone on mud. The only issues with the...
