This is solid FJ55. It is ready for someone to restore it or do a little work to it and have a project that you can drive while you work on it. I have too many projects and need to pay some bills. I thought I would offer it here before I put it up on Facebook. I am going to share everything I know about it, but feel free to message me if you have any questions. Up for sale is a beautifully original 1972 FJ55. Originally from central Arkansas before a short stent in Texas and now cruising around OKC.
I bought this originally to scratch an itch left by the last 55 that I had several years ago. I’ve had cruiser corps here in OKC do a disc brake conversion on the front, place a new carburetor and intake and a few other odds and ends. I’ve enjoyed it, scratched my 55 itch and now ready for the next adventure.
I would prefer to sell outright but open to trades from mud members for the right vehicle. Would prefer a 62/73/80/100/200 as I have a 40 and 45 already in the corral.

I am at the last few miles of my FJ40 project. It is time to think about the future.
I have 2f engine (probably in working shape) and 3sd transmission/transfer case, that I can use for my next project.
I thought to put it in FJ55... or sell/use it as parts..if fj55 will have the engine.
I am looking for a PROJECT vehicle (ideally with a title, or proof of ownership if it pre 73).
Price range: as low as possible ..$1- $2500
A mostly complete .. again, if possible (finding parts for fj55 will be challenging)

hello, I bought this cruiser 3 years ago and just can’t find the time to fix it up I hate letting it go but things are what they are.
I believe I’m the second owner. It does not run and is all original. The rust looks kinda bad but you’d be surprised up close how much of it is surface rust. I have a ton of new or rebuilt parts and pretty much give or take a part or two is a mid 80’s 2f engine. I live in western North Carolina. Id trade for a 1980’s Toyota 4x4 5 speed pickup or a running fj55 or a fj45 I can add cash or whatever we need to do. Here are some of the parts I have, I’ll try to find more. I feel like I’m very reasonable to deal with if you want to make an offer.

Looking to sell my 1979 FJ55 (Iron Pig). I’m asking $20k or best reasonable offer. I am in a far NW suburb of Chicago. I bought it 4 years ago from Idaho. It has never seen Chicago winters. It is garage kept. Original engine, trans, frame. When purchased, I had an Idaho LC shop pull engine & trans and reseal everything, new clutch, new water pump, front end parts, oil pan gasket, de-smog it and more I think. I hesitate to put this out there because I am still on the front end of my FJ40 build. That being said, I am thinking about my next build being a FJ55 and they seem to be really hard to find at a reasonable price. It took me about 6 months to find my FJ40, so I am just putting this out there.
If anyone knows of a FJ55 in the south east (GA, SC, Tenn, Ala, etc.) for a fair/good deal, let me know. I looking for something that is rough but mostly complete (probably not running and needs lots of work, rust is OK... like I said, a project). The cheaper the better ($500-$2000 range)
I am still on the front end of my FJ40 build, so I am not in a hurry. However, if it is a good deal, I can grab it and hold on to it until I am finished...

Motor turns but does not run.
P/O owner swapped a 1.5F motor.
What is "cool" no pun intended is it appears to have the complete Toyota a/c system. Guessing it was installed when motor was swapped.
I have a replacement passenger fender, rear cut out patch sections, and the glass piece for drivers rear door.
Has been repainted and shows bondo.

Patina August '73 FJ55 - VIN 35521 - F155 with 3 on the floor
Resurrected after a number of years getting crusty in the Arizona desert, the team at Apex Customs in Phoenix, AZ, have helped reclaim a lot of what the desert rats had eaten and brought it back to rolling, running and registered - clean title in owners name in the great state of Nevada.
The not so great...
Floors with surface rust condition but no holes, usual exterior rust holes on front fenders, rockers and rear corners, back body mounts needing care. Rear gate works! 1x crack and chip in windscreen.

When I went to pick up a load of 40 parts last Friday the owner also had this FJ55 for sale. He is reducing the number of projects and this one did not make the list. Completely sandblasted, runs and drives, has the interior and the owner told me he even has a factory front bench that was a take out from 1973 to put in bucket seats. He said that was a thing back then. Yep a like new OEM front bench seat. He is asking $9,500 and said he has over 15k invested. Super nice guy and an upstanding individual as he actually sent me a partial refund on the parts I bought because he felt I overpaid for them.

1974 FJ55, original F155 engine, H41 4 speed (similar to H42, but with granny 1st gear), stronger FJ60 split transfer case. Both the tranny/tcase have new gaskets and seals installed. New Old Man Emu 3" light lift from Cruiser Outfitters, front disc axle from an FJ40 that has been rebuilt (new knuckle and hub bearings and seals), new disc brake parts on front, new tie rod ends, rear disc brake conversion with new rotors, calipers, and pads, new Aussie locker in rear. Both front and rear axles were pulled, wire wheeled, primed and painted flat black. New clutch disc, new pressure plate, new throw out bearing, new pilot bearing, and new OEM rear main engine seal...

Reluctantly selling my 1972 55 Project. My family and I are going to be moving states and I’ve got 2 other semi-project cars. I don’t know very much about this truck but I’ll share what I can.
Truck is a late 1971 build date FJ55. Originally sold in Northern California, has resided here its whole life. Previous owner purchased the truck in the early 2000’s, then parked it prior to 2010 and it has sat since. Truck is not currently running. The odo shows 82,xxx miles, the DMV has the mileage as correct, and the previous owner believes it’s correct as well.
Orange and white, pretty complete and pretty dry. As you can see, the fenders and the gutters are the worst of it, I’ve tried to get photos of every little bit of rust on...

Backstory -
When I moved to Las Vegas 10 years ago, my next door neighbor had this 55 in his garage. I'd always ask him about it, and if he'd ever want to sell. He bought it from his uncle, who bought it brand new in 1977 in California. He wasn't interested in selling since it was in his family for so long.
After we moved out of that neighborhood, I'd still drive by from time to time, and eventually I stopped seeing the owner out in the garage like he so often was. I ended up speaking to his wife, and her husband had unfortunately passed away. She did say she'd call me...
