Looking for a nice rust free driver, original paint/patina is fine. Looking for floor not column shift. PS and PB upgrades are welcomed. Closer to stock the better. Doesn’t have to be perfect, only planning on driving it the 2 miles to downtown Zionsville for breakfast or dinner. Maybe cars and coffee and the 3 miles to the gym. Soft top may be better than hard top. I don’t plan on ever running a top or at a maximum a soft top rolled up. Would like a color like spring green, cadet, capri or sky blue, olive, or nebula green.

Picked up a project truck over the summer with the intention of building a crawler. Unfortunately for me, now is not the time for a project. So I’m selling it. The Tub has rust and will need some sheet metal work. The frame has been powder coated. Comes with a mostly rust free solid top and full doors. Ambulance doors in rear. Soft half doors. Fenders, Bezel, crowls, hood, gas tank, winch , radiator, drive lines, leaf springs and miscellaneous hard included.

I bought this truck several years back. Excellent condition on frame and body. Floorboards and bed are super solid. No drive train. I pulled it to install 1hz and never had time. 1HZ is for sale in diesel section. Please call me for details. The pictures are from when I bought it. Dry stored for 3+ years. This FJ40 is not currently on the road AND it is not a numbers matching truck. The title and two VIN plates on the truck match (233233), and the number stamped on the frame is 233233. BUT, during a couple of months research and advise from knowledgeable people on this site, it is not a factory stamp. Someone prior to me buying it for my son in 2005, altered the frame number, and used their own metal stamping tool, so it shows 233233.
There are a couple of reasons why this could happen. One reason is not a good one, and the other is worse. We have been working with the VA State Police, DMV, and the local Sheriff’s Department to try and track down the previous owner(s), but it has proven unsuccessful. I’ve been informed by law...
I've been casually looking to purchase another FJ40 for about 6 months. And the local Southern CA market is the worst I've ever seen it, to many people being told they've got the unicorn of the "rare" FJ40 sitting in their front yard........
So I've got the opportunity to take a drive North of the Bay Area for a 78, 116k original miles, original motor, original paint, (except a passenger fender repair), original headliner, original SoCal vehicle, passes CA smog, starts right up. Pretty much unmolested.
Small bit of rust on rear corners, and surface rust under the mat in the back.

Finally finished restoration on my 73 FJ40. It was a labor of love and I learned a lot from the 10 year process. Every part of the vehicle has been replaced, restored, or rebuilt. The rebuilt drive train is stock with less than 300 miles driven since engine restoration. 75K original miles on the engine. Hi, I’m selling my FJ40 LX. The car is from 1984 and has 83k KM on the odometer.
It runs and drives great without any mechanical issues or faults. It has been repainted and I think that’s when a new odometer has been installed. My guess is that the car has 200-250k KM. The interior is original with the original front floormat and new door covers. It has the factory a/c installed but the compressor is missing. I have one which I will add to the car. Overall it’s in good condition and may be driven as is.

Selling my BJ40.
Excellent running condition. Engine turns over every time, diesel runs perfectly. Inspected and maintained by Toyota Canada Quality Assurance engineer and corporate office mechanic. The truck works, guaranteed. No gremlins. Replaced the brake lights recently. Everything else is relatively stock save the roof rack and front frame with high beams. Love this truck, have to sell, wife is pregnant.

1976 daily driver FJ 40 is for sale near me and The owner is telling me they drive it daily and it runs strong. They won $14,000 for it. There is some rust on the body but nothing major like you would find in the salty belt of the country. The 2F motor is not original but is standard. It needs cosmetic work but runs. The mileage is really unknown as the diameter did not work. What do you think?

Very solid 1971 fj40 in original paint with some bumps and scratches from 30 years of plowing a 2 mile road/driveway. Would make a great winter project.
Here are the basics:
Solid original paint with front fenders having some paint touch up and bondo.
Floors have some surface rust with 2 holes present in drivers floor area.
Bench seat has been modified with 2 vw buckets.
Rear seats are missing and a period aftermarket roll bar is in their place.
Electrical seems to be all working, except horn and burnt out head lights.
Drivetrain consists of 250 Chevy 6 with sm420 to 3speed Toyota transfer Case.
Decent clutch and 4wd.
The engine smokes and I would assume someone would want to replace with Toyota drivetrain.
Has a clean title.
