Thanks.
The suspension I chose to do something quite different. Fronts are based on taller jdm take off 70 series springs. Rear I did a low soa with 60/70 based rear springs. Tires are 33s (285/75/16 on gm wheels). Flex is reasonably balanced front and rear. I’m almost happy with it. Need different rear shocks and might add one more leaf to the rear pack
: Builds a 40 with random parts to great configuration. Drives days 40 from Canada land to the Rubicon. Wheels on 33s. Drives home. Camping along the way.

You my internet friend have won for today. I owe you a beverage of choice. As long as it’s next to a campfire

Got a new swaybar setup installed and took the rig for a drive. Almost completely eliminated the body roll I had. Also got the new drip rail fitted and tacked together.

What are the part numbers? When I looked into it did not seem to have an application for a 40. I did high steering arms but not SOA on my build.

Been still going at it on the little needed things… jb welded the upper radiator support (good for a few more years lol

Fixed the seal on the PS pump reservoir cleaned the pulley while I was at it

And replaced my seat bottom with a spare from @JKIII FJ40 … found the lower support bar in seat back broken welds on both sides… fixed that but in the process melted part of the pleather lol I’m one day most likely going to get the procar seats … they nice on the bum bum

Thanks again @JKIII FJ40 good karma on you !!!

I just had to replace my ps pump. The seal was leaking behind the pulley and I didn't know what model vehicle it came from and could not get a seal to match it. I bought a new 4runner pump and I am currently fabricating a different bracket to mount it.

Is that the 4bt, how’s it going.
I thought the radiator would be a quick job. View attachment 4168376View attachment 4168377Went to buy a radiator on marketplace and scored this rebuilt heater box and a set of 2H ac mounts. Turned into an expensive trip!

That’s so clean. Is that the 4bt. How’s it driving. I read the build thread but no updates for a while

Checked fluids all the way around, added some gear oil to both diffs.

Greased the u joints.

Sprayed some carb cleaner in the carb to clean out some gunk.

Loaded some camping and fishing gear in it.

Time for some fun.

Plugs is what I did… plus other stuff … it’s in my thread if you really like to see lol

Plugs looked great … I had another set that had a few thousand miles on them that had been blasted … cleaned … and regapped that went in and these will get blasted and cleaned and put on shelf for next time

I have eliminated all plugs and points in my rigs. My company truck is getting close to 60k miles and had it in for that service which included new spark plugs and was disallowed until it gets to 60k. With my next assignment I will will getting new plugs while on assignment.

Busy. Lots of progress, headliner installed, refurbing and installing the wiring harness, finding tons of little things the painters forgot to paint so I’m plating those things because I can crank it out in an hour or so while doing other work. Gangsta bling might be too much though, I’ll paint if it looks dumb when the assembly is complete.

Have everything I need to build/restore the exhaust except for 3 flanges I’m having a local shop fab for me in 304 stainless. Should have the exhaust installed by end of month. Will post up some pics of how I make it work. Going to follow the original path and refurb the attached heat shields and install a new catalytic converter with the heat probe.

On the rock jock website, I ordered the universal 32" bar with 17" arms. I also ordered 2 of the 6 1/2" end link rods.

Yeah, life got busy and I fell behind on my build thread. I'd have to post pages and pages of pictures to catch back up.

Yes it is a 4bt, and it is running great. Running very smooth and getting close to 30mpg after regearing to 3.73s

Hoping someone who knows the 2H motor is lurking here and can help troubleshoot. Posting here because the diesel section isn’t as active.

I primed the hand pump and got all the air out of the bleed screw by the filter. Removed the glow plugs and cracked the injectors till they were all wet and tightened them again. Cranked the engine until I got fuel blowing out of all the glow plug holes and then buttoned everything up.

This video is the first two start attempts. I’ve checked the glow plug bus bar and I’m getting 13V which the ignition in the ON position. I have not checked each glow plug though.

Any nuggets of wisdom are greatly appreciated!

At least you've got a supportive lady.

Seems like it’s cranking very slow.

New shoes! I wanted a shoe situation that gave me the same look and feel my 100 series setup has but withOUT the 1.25 Spidertrax spacers. Enter: Methods 18" +18 offset wrapped in 265 70 18 FWPAT4s. If your interested, no extra sound from these tires. That said I'm running Mickey Thompson Baja pro ATs on my JK, also no extra sound. That's a great tire too, but too aggressive for what I'm doing in the LX.
Next, chrome delete! Going dark!

Took my wife for a ride in the Toy today! I'm just tickled.. 😁It's been 40 years since we've been able to do that... Had a 74 back in the 80's. Sold it because we needed to be practical..🙃 Always regretted it. But being practical isn't always fun. 😉That being said.. with much encouragement from her... Got this 73'. Now I just tell people I'm going through a midlife crisis at 65..🤣😂😎
