Saw your DM but for some reason i cannot reply to it?

I don't remember much about this. Best i can do is hope that you can find a copy of the electrical wiring diagram.

Thanks for your response, for some reason that DM thread was locked. I unlocked it now.

I have the diagram it's page 83.

So, are all the interior light supposed to dim when a door closes or they're just on/off depending on the door switch? It looks like they're tied to that relay... Unless I'm reading it wrong.

I’m lost. Where is this relay located? I’m pulling what little hair I have left out searching for this. Are they all green?

Behind the passenger side kick panel, move the harness and you'll see it. Bring a flashlight... I have a 95 it is green and I have a 97 it's also green... 10mm deep socket and you can take it off..

Both boxes I use don't light up the key ring at all, but if I run a jumper wire on the plug I can force it to go on, however.... Then it's on all the time, regardless of the doors being open or closed...

I might just try to wire the keyring light to the passenger side courtesy light, that way it goes on regardless of which front door opens and it stays lit until doors closed.... I cannot figure out this little circuit board... 😐

This thread has been very helpful. I've been having a mystery battery drain in a matter of days and looked in last night and saw the key ring light on. I am not concerned with the key light working, at least not at this time.

Does anyone know, can I remove the "room lamp control" circuit? Will this keep the light from turning on all together and will it affect anything else?

You can remove the "room lamp control" circuit with no affect to anything besides the keyring light.

Great, I'm going to pull that to solve the problem and maybe revisit it for a proper solution later. Thanks!

Update - I've now replaced my "room lamp control" box with (2) additional ones and I still cannot seem to get the ignition keyring to lite up when the door opens...the only way I get light is if I run a jumper wire on the room lamp control plug but that just keeps the light on always... Still trying...

Were you ever able to figure this out? I'm having the same issue as you (no voltage at the key bulb socket). I pulled the relay and tested most of the components and they seem to be working as intended. I also unplugged the relay and did some testing with my multimeter. I get 12v off the Red & Green wire if the driver's door is shut, but I get nothing from any of the three wires if the door is open. Jumping that wire to the key bulb socket wire gets me 12v if the door is shut as well. My dome lights function as intended when the doors are open and shut, so I'm not sure what's going on. I was going to buy a used relay, but not getting any voltage with the driver's side door open makes me think something else is going on. I'm just not sure where to start at this point.
EDIT: Looks like I'm going to trace the blue/yellow wire back from the relay plug and see where it got shorted out.
