One man's junk is another mans.....

JUNK... Just in a different garage.
I thought this site was for encouraging members and for saving these things?

Not all of us have "deep pockets" and can afford buying $15,000 projects :)

Nor can you afford to restore a money-pit junk cruiser.

They can’t all be saved. Some need to be sacrificed to keep the rest alive.

I think we have minimum 5 types of member here..
1. Who pay more than 10K with minimum work..
2. Who pay more than 10K with "full" restoration
3. Who pay only 2-5K and do a lot of work to "restore" it.
4. who pay less than 2K and give up on restoration..:-)
5. who pay 35K and not do any restoration.

Now this Fj for 3rd or 4th type? or just for parts?

If I can get it for a good price... I will SAVE it!

I love saving old cars and giving them a second lease on life. I have done several, and I need another father/son project for my 12 year old son. He has come to love FJ's and he is ready for one.

I am not disillusioned. I know it will take a lot of time, a lot of work, and some money to get this one back on the road, but my labor is "free" and it is a labor of love, and a great way to teach and spend time with my son.

Two GREAT investments... FAMILY and a FJ40!!! It doesn't get much better than that!

I would NOT try to restore it, just put it back on the road as a solid reliable FJ40 to enjoy. These things were made to last, made to fix, and made to keep going.

It's no fun getting one that is already done.

Let's keep the lost art of "doing it yourself" going.

@Vexvader I have another one that is really just a rolling shell. no top, doors, etc. But the body/fenders are in better shape. I was going to sell it separately but would be willing to do a package deal for the right price.

I can get photos of it tomorrow if interested.
