Based on production dates, engine and frame original to the vehicle. October 1971 production date. Frame number FJ40-114846. Engine number F371154.

F motor, runs fantastic, compression test numbers: 120, 121, 120, 120, 122, 120

4WD works great. Main gas tank under passenger seat, also has auxiliary tank in the rear that is controlled with a switch under the driver seat.

New complete upholstery set for front seats and rear jumper seats from Specter Off-Road including new foam. Installed by Award Interiors of Sacramento.

Excellent example of an unmodified FJ 40, which is becoming much harder to find. West Coast vehicle.

Sharp looking rig. Looks to me like fresh paint. Did you oversee the restoration? I’d be curious to see pics of the body work, if any was needed before paint. If you or the new owner wants a NOS cadmium gas cap, Mark’s Offroad might have a couple stached away.
 
There was likely a respray prior to me acquiring the vehicle. I had Holden Sheet Metal in Placerville do a small job on the left rear quarter panel where there was a few quarter size spots where the paint bubbled due to rust. They cut the affected areas out and put in new metal and resprayed the left rear quarter panel. They do great work. I had the interior done by Award Interiors in Sacramento as noted. The FJ was very original when I obtained it so I just had a few things to clean up.
 
Also, I had a PPI done by McCoys 4x4 in Sonora before I purchased it and they noted no problematic rust issues other than the area I had repaired.
