I took on trade earlier this year with high hopes but life has changed. Single owner California only rig, I just got registration current and have a new title in hand.
Odometer is at 14,635 not sure how many times it has rolled over.
I reviewed a video of it running a month before it was delivered to me. I tossed an extra battery in it back in April and she wanted to fire. Not sure of running condition beyond that.
What you see in pictures is that you get, with the exception I do have the rear door glass + frame, original skid plate and an additional windshield.

Did the full restoration here in Spain, but I went waaaaay over my budget.

Looking to sell our '74 FJ40. We purchased a few years ago with intentions of rebuilding, however, life has gotten in the way and we have changed directions. Being as transparent as possible, so please don't hesitate to reach out with more questions. The best realization I can give is the pics look great, but its a 30-40 yarder, meaning up close, you can see the flaws. It will need a new paint job (we did not paint it, bought like this), the usual body work (doors are rusted where seals were, some patching needed on tub, its a '74... it will need some body work as any restoration will).... Engine, frame and chassis are in good condition which is mainly why we bought. The following has been done so far or needs to be addressed:

1973 FJ40, small block Chev, Toyota T/C and 3 speed manual trans. ARB rear locker, Holley Sniper EFI and HyperSpark distributor/ignition box. Custom headers into single exhuast tucked up by the frame. Disc brakes just installed. Runs, drives, stops, etc....BUT only drove it about 2 miles after doing the disc brakes. It sits in my barn/shop and I don't drive it.

Not mine - my brother saw this on a roadside in Branchburg, NJ and sent me some pics.
All, long time cruiser owner (80, 100 and 3 200s). I'm on the search for a restored US spec 80+ FJ40 or 43. Similar to the example JJ Cruiser just sold. Budget is flexible for the right example just can't reach an FJ Company or Icon, yet. Thanks in advance for any leads. Got a nice bottle of bourbon for anyone that finds it!

Long story: Bought this from a local north Texas cruiser guy. He was in middle of a divorce and wanted to get rid of this. I bought it on the spur of the moment because after having messed with my son's 1968, I was in love with the idea of something that already had all the goodies, i.e. power dual circuit disc brakes, 4 speed on the floor, roll bar, parking brake on rear axle, gas tank under rig etc....

Like most here, I've reached a cross roads where I'm getting a new toy and have to part with an "old" toy. I've had this beauty for a year and love her dearly. I posted quite a bit when I first got her, to the chagrin of most! haha. But, we are getting a family motor home, and the young kids will get more enjoyment from that than my beauty. I'm planning on going through the process of posting her on bring-a-paycheck (trailer) also, but wanted to give you fine folks first dibs.

First off would like to mention that I have owned this 40 for over half my life and have dumped a lot of money into over the years so not in a hurry to sell and not going to give it away. But unfortunately it hasn’t been on a trail in years and I have been going back and forth for a long time on listing it but have decided to move forward with at least trying to sell it. It deserves to be out of the shop more than just the occasional drive and actually used for what it’s built for.

Recently I completed a full restoration on a 1982 FJ40. I sold it and gave the new owner credit for this 1970 land cruiser. I am in the middle of another big restoration project and this one really does not need restored. I have not done much to it other than clean it up. It starts up immediately and runs great. I have not driven “3 on the tree” in a long time but have to say I enjoy it.
