This is a 1973 FJ40 project, located in south western Colorado (Ridgway). Colorado title. It starts and runs, but is definitely a project rig and needs tinkering/adjusting. I'd sure like to find the Bolt-on side clamps for the factory FJ40 roll bar. I have the OEM roll bar all painted up all pretty that would sure love some of the OEM clamp pieces to make her secure.
Had this FJ40 for 12 years. Bought from a local seller that had purchased in Arizona and brought to San Diego. Have had it serviced at the Truck Shop (TLC specific mechanic) in SD the entire time. Have receipts for literally everything done.
Chevy 350 SB engine - V8 - runs well. No smoke. Starts up no issues. 4-speed and minimal surface rust, mostly rust free. Unsure when the SB got swapped. Painted original beige color 5 years ago, paint is holding up well. Tires at 95% tread.

I procured this some 10 years ago saddled with the regret of selling my ’76 when I was in high school. I purchased it through my business at the time so the hand painted artwork was performed under my ownership (no clearcoat). Since then, I sold my business to spend more time with my kids, wife, dogs etc. My son has a blossoming racing career so my time is dedicated to wrenching, traveling, spending, etc. So why sell now, just wait, right? Hey guys, here is a nice project with a lot of work already complete. I purchased this with the plan of robbing the chassis and tub for my 78 project. I since decided that I really wanted to bring the 78 back from the ground up in its entirety. The rust wasn't as bad as thought on my 78 so I'm going to rescue it. Great opportunity here for someone that wants to jump start their build. The individual I bought this project from performed all the work. I have all his build photos getting it to this point.
Here are the details:
