I have a red 71 in Oregon that is very clean

Still talking to the Michigan owner, waiting for him to coordinate a look over with a MUD member. Meanwhile this popped up in Arizona. The steering wheel is fugly, and it needs stock steelies, but otherwise i like it. Please tell me what you see with your more experienced eyes...thanks!

Doesn’t look too bad. Non-stock front seats, no rear seats, modified steering column/wheel, converted to floor shift for both transmission an T-case. I hate when people say all original when it clearly isn’t, but that’s beside the point.

Would want to see it in person if I were looking but it looks like a pretty decent one. Everything done looks like it could be changed back without too much work. (Not necessarily including floor shift conversion).

Nice truck, wouldnt pay more than high teens at most if i was a fan of red, given its not original paint. If it looked that good in original paint it would be worth the asking price if all the mechanicals checked out. All the other non OEM stuff wouldnt be a deal breaker for me. I’d keep the floor shift and convert back to dash shifted t-case. There is a complete front bench seat that should work in this ‘69 for sale here in classifieds for a very fair price. Shipping may make it not so appealing, but how often do you see complete bench seats for sale and not at Ebay prices? All the mechanicals need to be dialed for that asking price. Brakes, clutch, no play in steering, good shocks and leaf bushings, no play in wheel bearings or knuckle bearings, stays cool/at proper operating temp, runs and drives good. You can spend a small fortune paying to fix the little things. A truck in the mid 20’s should require very very little, just personal touches and routine maintenance. My $.02.

Can any of you more experienced people tell from this photo if the original smog equipment is intact? This is the Michigan vehicle and the owner isn't sure. Unfortunately I live in an area with smog testing, so I want to determine if I'd be in for a major headache....thanks for any help you can give.
