There was nothing left untouched on this truck, unless it did not need to be rebuilt and then it received a thorough cleaning and detailing. She was converted to 12 volts and every single part is Toyota, with exception to the PS reservoir which is BMW.

I am selling my 1978 40, it is too nice for any serious wheeling. It has a Chenowith carb, headers and no air pump, it runs fantastic, it has 90,000 original miles and no adolescents have owned or modified this truck. Body is clean and rust free as it has never been outside. Seat covers are 2 years old, headliner is stock and has some sag as does the owner. Stock wheels and hub caps with 95% rubber, Ramsey 8000# winch, new radiator and hoses and fuel pump last year. The former owner had a Earl Scheib paint job, still looks good.

1979 FJ40 - Refreshed in 2007, this cruiser is daily driver quality. Your typical '20 footer' that has maintained its looks since then (i.e. there is some metal replaced and filler in areas). It has been garage kept and regularly serviced while in my ownership. I believe I'm the third owner. I bought this FJ40 from a private seller in 2009. Drove from Arizona back to Colorado with zero issues. My goal was to find as many stock pieces and parts over the years as I could. The only non-stock look would be the lift, tires and wheels. WTT 1962 Swiss 404 for a 75 and newer fj40. The Unimog has 2 speed crawler gears installed. Newer Swiss Rear Canvas installed. Factory Mercedes Snorkel. Complete Pinoeer kit i.e.: shovel and axe. 2 sets of snow chains. Have newer Michelins on it, 12.50r20s. Turn Signal does not work, its a 5 dollar part, just never drive it so i don't worry about it. Installed new wheel cylinder on driver front, have new rears and rebuild kit for passenger front. Just have not installed them. Will add pics later. Runs good, shifts good. I put Amsoil in the tranny.

Body has a good bit of rust, but the frame is in excellent shape. The motor, transmission, and transfer case are original and work great. New front brakes, including calipers, pads, and rotors. New carburetor and electric fuel pump, the original pump is still there and i stall have the original carburetor and breather cover. I have the original jump seat for the rear. the body is about 50/50 salvageable but the majority of the work will be needed on the rear tub. $5000 OBO. Any other questions, just ask away.

I put 31" Super Swampers on her last year - and all told have only put about 300 miles on them so far.
Bilstein 5100s in the rear, Rough Country on the front - Did a Hell Creek 2.5" lift in late 2012.

Not mine. Just saw the ad I don't know anything about it (or the sellers) other than the ad, there's not too many people in ND that are interested in older land cruisers, especially if there's an engine swap involved. (I picked up my mint FJ60 with 150k miles for not much more than that a couple years back)
Looks a little rough, has a chevy 305 with an automatic.
Price seems about right.

would like to trade my 2014 Polaris razor for a fj40 or bj42. I bought the razor about 4 months ago and just use it around my neighborhood. it has only 19 hrs and around 120 miles on it. would like a fj40 or bj42 as a vehicle to drive to work and around town in place of my f250 diesel, and as sons future first vehicle. trade doesn't have to be of equal value it can be less with money added. ill add pics later but it is white and black it is a 570 le it is trail width 50", fits in the back of my tuck just barely. I have topped it out at 67 mph by myself.
